I, have installed Remix OS an my Stick (via Resident Mode) i use a 16GB stick. 4GB is not much if you want to Save Games.

I believe it's due to the limitations of the FAT filesystem. FAT only allows files of up to 4GB, and as all your persistent data is stored as an image, it therefore cannot be any greater than 4GB.

That's true for FAT32 but not ExFAT, which is what my drive is formatted as. Would be nice if we could increase the local storage image size?

If anyone figures out how to increase the storage, post here. I ran out pretty fast just downloading my normal google and productivity apps.

If I understand correctly....

You used a 16 Gig USB and followed the standard instructions? Burned the ISO file in the ZIP to the USB device with the included tool?

I did a native install in a virtual computer. This resulted in the entire hard drive being accessable, as I formatted it Ext4.

You could try partitioning your USB drive, making a second partition Ext4...

Or, you could try using a virtual machine to mount your USB drive as an internal hard drive, and then running the install directed at it.

then, remove it from the virtual machine, pop it into a real machine, and you are good to go with the entire space available to android.

Would you mind detailing the flags needed to get it to install to an entire USB stick itself?

As far as I know, I just used the standard installation method detailed (used the provided tool to get the ISO onto the USB stick), and it's stuck with a 4GB limitation.

If there's a clear, detailed way to select the partition to install to from the initial screen (selection between resident or guest), preferably involving the options that need to be added into the boot mode, that'd be lovely.

It has a 4GB limit because of the limitations of FAT32… You can try formating the drive as exFAT and then find a way to increase the size of the DATA partition. But there is no official way yet to do that second task

Yesterday I have installed the OS on my UBS and run in my home Ultrabook. I have a blank SD card inserted for a future use and it shows as an external SD card just like the android phones

If we particione the USB drive do you think it will work in the same way?
