Hi Guys,
Whenever I am using RemixOS to boot from 16GB Class10 microSD card on USB2.0 connection, it stops responding at "creating data partition" message.
I used DEBUG=1 as shown on other threads but it never worked. It just restarts the PC with some errors.

The same USB is working on my friend's old PC but not on mine. What can be the problem?

CPU-Z Report is attached.

Good day Ashish. Are you running the 64 bit version of Remix OS?

Remix_OS_for_PC_64_B2016020201_Alpha_Legacy.ISO file is copied on USB. I think it is 64bit version.

Hi Ashish. That is the 64 bit version of Remix OS. Try the 32 bit version. Here is the link: http://remix.jide.com/6. It is a torrent file so you will need a torrent program to download it. Tell me if it works or not.

Good day Friend,

I think your problem is different to the problem of Ashish.
Ashish said, "it stops responding at 'creating data partition' " --quoting him.
You said,"stuck in checking data" --quoting you. Ashish's problem is about
creating data partitions whereas your problem according to how you reported it,
is about stucking in checking data and then something about running on hdd.

My advice to you is to open a new thread and to express in detail what happened
or happens. Someone may recognize the problem and help you.

I am doing this in Remix OS. It is a wonderful operation system --the story of android.
Don't give up. You will get help!

Yours sincerely and respectfully

I have recovered from both these errors by simply deleting my data.img and letting the OS create a new one. Alternately when I wanted more space I created one in Debian. Both worked well. You can also use the new RMXTools v1.1 to create a new large data.img. You can even use RMXTools to backup data from within your data.img if you have any.

Considering your system is 64bit, it would not be advisable to use 32bit, as those instructions are emulated.

Hi Jordon.

I myself have a 64 bit machine. The 64 bit version of Remix OS did not work on it. It also stopped at the creating data partition stage. It was a great dissapointment to me since I do have a 64 bit machine. As a result, I looked for the 32 bit version of Remix OS and used it. Yes a 32 bit version of Remix OS running on a 64 bit platform --I am typing this in Remix OS(32 bit on a 64 bit platform). I am not sure about your advice however this is about giving people ideas and therefore, any idea could work. Moreover, your explanantion helped me with a potential problem --how to add more space or how to make the image file bigger. Thank you for this idea!

Hey friend. First of all, thanks. I used 32bit version & this problem is gone. But a new one arises.

Instead of Androidx86 logo, a blank screen is coming. My USB reading/writing LED will be blinking but isn't showing anything on screen. I kept it for more than 30 mins but nothing happened.
Can you help me with this too? :)

Hi Ashish,

I am glad that it got you pass that earlier point.

It sounds like you have a very slow usb. Do you know how many  bytes/kb/mb per second in read & write?

Anyway, to move on, read the following instructions even if you think you have it that way!!! You could partition your hard drive and then run Remix OS on it. You will need Remix OS and installation instructions. So here they are.

First, you will need the 32 bit version of Remix OS --taking into account the age of your pc. The file is a torrent file so you will need torrent software to download it. Here is the link:http://remix.jide.com/6. You already have this.

Lastly, you will need instructions to install the above. The following link worked for me. Instead of running it off a slow usb, you could run it on a faster hard drive. Here is the link to the partitioning and installation instructions: http://www.techdroider.com/2016/01/guide-how-to-dual-boot-remix-os.html.

I hope this will help you Ashish. Don't give up hope. This forum is to help people --even people like me. Whether it works or not, please come back and update your status! It could help a fellow Remixer or potential Remixer or Remix OS itself.

Hey bro, I am using 16GB MicroSD Class10. I checked the speed on my PC. It is coming as -- Avg. Read: 17.25 MB/s Write: 10.126MB/s. I think it is pretty good.

And I tried installing on HDD all before starting the thread here. I tried the same after getting 32bit version from you, but it seems my numerous HDD partition are creating problem.
I have more than 12 partition on HDD. I put RemixOS on a 20GB FAT32 partition & done all as explained in the link.

After booting, the command goes to "Detecting Androidx86" message and dots keep filling the screen. I think running RemixOS is not in my kismet for now. :(

Ashish

There is one more thing left to try
It can't detect Android x86 because it can't find the source.
Meaning you may have installed Remix OS within a folder named something like this->'/android-2016-xx-yy'

Check if you have.
And if you have, you'll need to edit your Grub entry . You'll need to put the exact folder name after 'SRC='.

So it should look something like this -> 'SRC=/android-2016-xx-yy'

Now, I am not sure anymore but if so, I have and idea or two. If you find that it is not a data structure problem in the end but a usb one, maybe he should try to disable the usb in bios because he is running Remix OS on HDD.
