INSTALL=1 method (remix os hdd install)

I came to know that adding INSTALL=1 during setup would directly allow HDD installation and tried it as it was simple compared to other tutorials.

I was able to install Remix OS with 227 GB internal memory, but it failed to boot for the second time.

What went wrong?? Something to do with GRUB boot/entry point of standalone Remix OS? will this method work???

I have tried installing only GRUB, EFI GRUB2, and both.

Please suggest.

It works because in the last step you select "Run Android-x86". Install grub2 only. for working i had to create a separated boot partition (500mb) with flag "boot partition" (gpt->type->L to list and look for boot partition code) and another one with the rest of HD with flag EFI System (same as boot partition to look for type code)

Created boot partition (ef02) and EFI system (ef00) and completed installation, now it boots from hdd.

Installing to a hdd partition (ntfs) works alongside windows ....but with beta, I can't install it standalone to a 250gb hdd

How to setup a fresh hdd without any partition to accept Remix OS Beta as a standalone OS with internal memory equal to hdd capacity?

I have tried INSTALL=1, but getting error like installation failed, can't boot and needs format, no bootable device, etc

Hi can you help me. I have been struggling to get this to work for several weeks now and I have tried everything. I have tried the above but when loading I get "disk boot fialure"
Can you help with the parameters you used for the sectors and number of sectors?

You can great a Partion with Bootflag, with a "Linus usb Stick - Puppy" and the Program "GPARTED".
Use "linux live usb greator" and the USB 2.0 Port.

I have same problem, if you would have just hit reboot rather than run android it wouldn't have worked.   I have even tried a partition of 500MB that I format to fat32 and then rest remix and that hasn't worked as well

Same here:

INSTALL=2 -> One swap and one data.

Installs and after reboot i see only a blinking cursor.

I guees its GRUB. Any chance to install via a linux live cd?

I partitioned the hd like in first sector i typed 36 and in second option i inserted 1024000 to get 500mb partition. 

Boot codes for both are boot partition (ef02) and EFI system (ef00).
