3G modem support

Hello all,

I have Samsung Ativ 700T with internal 3G SIM card and Remix OS running like a charm but could not find and load my internal 3G modem. I think there is no support for now but i want to know do you have any plan about this.

This will be a tough one.

All drivers for Android-x86 are leveraged from Linux. I know that most WWAN cards on Linux have very limited to no support due to proprietary drivers being needed so if the card company doesn't see a need for Linux they do not or limit there support.

That being said there is another hurdle. The Android branch of the Linux kernel really leans towards integrated 3G/4G from "phone" chips/manufactures and those are not the same as the ones provided in a PC. But hurdles not matter how high can be jumped and I imagine that the ex-Google crew working on Remix will more than likely make all that happen.

i tried too many methods to connect my huawei E3531 but no luck until now

i tried ppp and ppp2 apps but i didnt find the widget

also tried utms manager app and when i press connect nothing change

im interested in any solution because i stopped using remix for that reason

I think this is a big problem because an OS without 3G support will be useless...

i saw it before but its complicated and not detailed like this phrase

 First you need to move the modem to "modem only" for this you will need a terminal

i searched google for AT command but didnt find a useful guide

and i dont know if it will work with web ui modems

Here is my 3G modem. Huawei MU733. May be someone can solve the problem otherwise Remix OS useless for me and most mobile internet users...

Ok. the real problem is with the huaweigeneric-ril module. It was included in the KitKat branch of android-x86 project,but was dropped at Lollipop as it fails to build. as i noticed,there's no active development on the huawei ril at github.com/DerArtem/huaweigeneric-ril now,not after 2013. So it'll be a dificult task to add support for 3g modems. But still there're many people using a usb modem to access web.

same problem here, i need to use my modem 3g on Remix OS.
What about zte modems? Huawei and zte modems work fine on Android x86 with ppp widget 2.

I resolve, just install sd maid and freeze remix os launcher, install nova launcher and choose like default launcher. Then you can add widgets and add ppp widget 2. (if you have any problem or similar resolve on app controller for sd maid)
My zte modem work like a charm now. And sorry by my english, im from Argentina.

but using ppp widget 2 we cant use vpn

on play store its written : 

  "Also, this app uses the VPN feature of Android. However, this is the only way to create a network interface, there is no actual VPN.

so we need a real and permanent solution ...

Installed sd maid but couldnt find the remix os launcher. Also sd maid doesnt have freeze option. Should i have pro version?

but i want to connect my huawei modem without losing any other feature

as you know many games arent available in some countries so we have to use vpn to play them.
