Hi guys,
I am trying RemixOS on HDD. I have taken all necessary measures given in https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fYg-ZxLmHqQ . But after booting & getting in resident mode, the screen comes to "Detecting Androidx86" message with increasing dots. Please tell me what can be done?

I have attached drive screenshots & CPUZ report.

not all ATI cards are working.

See if you can switch the BIOS to Intel

Hi Ashish. I looked at your screenshots and what strikes me about it is that you have no 4 gigabyte data.img file. The data.img file is where the sd card of Remix OS is. There are a few other files which are also not there but that can only be explained by you not doing it right. So, I going to put it in steps for you.

The Steps :

1 - Remix OS 32 bit comes in a zip file. You need to unzip this file to a simple folder on a drive.
2 - In this folder, there are 3 to 4 files. The most important of these are the iso and the usb extract program.
3 - Use the usb extract program to extract the iso to a usb drive.
4 - After the files are extracted to the usb drive by the extract program, copy them to a HDD --including the iso in the simple folder
5 - Use easybsd to point to this iso --now in the HDD with the other files.

Lastly, Take a screen shot of the HDD and post it so I can see if you did it right. Keep me informed and in the loop!

Thanks ScottQ. I don't have ATI or Intel. May be you are telling me not to use RemixOS on AMD processors. But for now I am stuck with them. Gonna buy new rig in coming summer.

Hey BrainyRabbit :)
Actually as per the video I supposed to extract ISO files in drive, so I did that. data.img files are created after booting in RemixOS which hasn't happened till now as it can't detect Androidx86.

I tried booted with USB & data.img & other files are now created. I copied them on HDD. Let's see what happens next.
Although, can I manually add the device/drive location like "/dev/sdaX" anywhere to detect & boot?

Hi Ashish. With EasyBSD, you dont have to worry about that. In EasyBSD, just point to the iso among those other files on the HDD --add a new entry in EasyBSD. Tell me if it works. If not, do include screenshots of the HDD and the EasyBSD entry.

Using an .iso and extracted files with easyBCD seems redundant to me, can you delete the .iso after setup?

Also is this for legacy boot? If it is then ignore the below.

What I would do is add an efi/boot folder to the directory with the .img's housing a grub.efi and grub.cfg and use EasyUEFI to boot the grub2 directly.

I'd say if it's not picking up the harddrive partition then possibly the grub being used doesn't support either ntfs/gpt/mbr or they haven't been insmod'ed

Here's the grub/grub.cfg I have running phoenixos - modify accordingly and try them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3643248&d=1455275397

Good day HyperT. Do you know what I have realized? Not every person has that level of technical knowledge and understanding. When they try to measure up to that, they often fail! An install and click method works well for most. I think Remix OS is still in development and where difficulty can not be overcome, we need to wait for them for the next update. Here is another link to give feedback direct to Remix OS developers or engineers: http://bit.ly/1o66jCb
