Remix OS for PC is now upgraded to Android Marshmallow and available now for download!

We’ve incorporated all the feedback you’ve given us on Remix OS for PC into a migration to Android 6.0. Here are the release notes for this migration upgrade:

"clean install" works best. otherwise, a lot of data issue to affect the system stability and performance.

Hello there. I installed 3.0 using the tool that comes with the torrent and created data.img with IMGTools. It seems to be booting fine but after restart, it deletes everything. It's stuck in guest mode. Nothing I do gets saved. I have looked into grub.cfg and it looks fine. Any idea why this could be happening?

Is there a  estimated time when the SUrface Book's will get touch support?  I also can not run off the USB, it meets specs but get stuck on Remix SPlash screen.  I used the the Remix installer, but Remix only would work if installed directly to HDD.

Jide says that this is not a stable version, is to test, to use an stable version please use remix 2.0.

This version doesn't work fine where previous version worked. I just replaced 2.403 version with 3.0.101 version. Installation it's fine, but after select language, that language selection screen scrolls to left and before the scroll is completed, it's freezed for 5 o 6 seconds. This, a black screen appears and nothing happens. After 10 minutes of a black screen, I press "ESC" key, and finally a window saying "Jide setup Wizard isn't responding. Do you want to close it?". If I press "Wait", I'll wait forever in the black screen. If I press "Ok" , appear again the language selection screen and so on ... 

Finally, I can't try new version on my motherboard.

Same here. the only thing that remains consistent after reboot is the play store app but even that forgets the log in credentials.

Version 3.0.101 . It has wifi bug (Network does not detects), eithernet has no dial-up & manual ip configuration. More over it has many bug that can not be described in word. please fix previous version first then release another android version of remix os. Thank you.

                   Remix OS Version:3.0.101 is runnig smoothly & there are no lag in it after version 3.0.101 installation. Smooth like butter but has bugs in connectivity.

it works fine on me AO756 but it has the same issue as stock androidx86 MarshamllowRC1 that the wifi DOES CONNECT but after turning it off it doesnt connect again. i could only restart and connect again but no more issues. only wifi and note it has the same issues from the stock android x86 6.0.1 rc1 :)

Had a smooth installation to a PC partition, once I changed from FAT32 to NTFS, and most apps work with a few exceptions. Have to connect WiFi upon each boot. I am puzzled by the absence of data and system sub-folders to the RemixOS folder.  Instead all seems contained in system.sfs and data.img.  Seems to me more like an USB configuration than a hard disk configuration!?

If you want to use a system and data folder you need to use ext4 instead of ntfs

Thanks!!  Yes I wanted to use ext4, so I formatted the partition to ext4.  But the installer refused it! And gave the options FAT32 or NTFS.  So I reformatted to FAT32 and the installation was OK until the first boot, when it stalled.  Reformatted to NTFS, which worked fine, except not giving folders for data and system. Is there any performance difference? If there is, how can I install on ext4??

Probably not a great difference in performance.

But you could do it manually; just dump the contents of your ntfs into a ext4 partition then, create a data folder and delete the data.img; then create a system folder, and dump the contents of system.sfs/system.img into it.

Setup wouldn't complete with my Intel GM45 C2D laptop (Sony NS10J) but put the install on a harddrive using USB3 and completed the install from my DESKTOP. (not install as normal using kernel command @ boot but RESIDENT MODE.

Switched back to the Sony Laptop and all works fine (Ahem!) I say all....no AdAway

root [su] and system read-write are 2 different things; you just need the 1st to do the second.

2 options for adaway are to use a system.img and an initrd.img that will mount it rw; or system-less root.
And a 3rd option being using a system folder on ext4

acer 6930g with nvidia 9300M GS using remix os 64bit 3.0.101 is not working any more it was working fine on 2.0.0 version now only show colored garbaged square with some flashing after initializing the driver it appear to continue load  the os, but i can't see anything. :( now i will try the 32bit version to see if something change.

Nvidia seems broken on 3.0.101 and 3.0.102 releases once you start using any app with OpenGL API level greater than ES 2.0.
ES 3.0 and 3.1 support is advertised but broken on Nvidia (tested GTX 780 and GTX 980 ti).
AMD/ATI advertises and works with 3.0 (R9 290X and Kaveri APU tested), Intel (depending on chipset) advertises 2.0, 3.0 or 3.1 and seems to work with everything that I tested including Iris Pro 550.

Have you seen the Phoenix OS? It's also android on PC and I mention this here because they have a far better Start Menu. Can you guys at least take a look and improvise from that? The current start menu is simply ugly.

Also, on the Marshmallow update, the settings app changed, and the new look is, again, ugly. The settings app from Lollipop was much better.

Understand that we want a PC OS that has all the abilities of an Android, not an Android that has been scraped to fit a PC.

Why would I not give up on windows? because remix installation is limited in size, because I cannot access my aaa titles when in remix only

hi have done some test on remix os 32bit 3.0.102 it work enough fine but often it get graphics corrupted on my nvidia 9300M GS on acer 6930g i add an image to let you see what i mean and maybe correct the problem, i hope too you fixx to the 64bit version not working anymore on latest update it was working fine up to 2.0.403. this problem sometime only will fix after load the os with internal screen. I hope you fix all this issue

If the OTA doesn't apply then clearly you have a non-stock installation.
If you don't have stock imgs and a system.sfs; then OTAs won't and shouldn't be expected to apply.

I have used Remix OS 3.0.103- . Jide did not give internet connection setup in Eithernet & I am unable to use internet in remix os. Please give a configuration in eithernet so that we can set static or Dial-up connection. I am waiting for it`s arrival.

Yes I did the OTA on 3 laptops (1 32bit and 2 64bit) without a problem. Because I had modified to use system r/w I just renamed a few files first.

If hdd INSTALL, try using another capable machine to complete the setup.

I'm running this OS on an optional pc. Thought this could be the perfect one to reuse that old machine. I've been using Remix OS from the Alpha release itself. Remix OS 2.0 (Android 5.1) worked good.Remix OS 3.0 (Android M 6.0) disappointed me .

Update to Version 3.0.104:

• Remix OS freezes after every standby.
  
• Inbox by Gmail: The scrolling with the mouse works in the Inbox but not in a discution wire.
  
• Mirroring does not work in full screen on an external display 24" with Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipset.
  
• The morroring to chromecast does not.
  
• Google Play: After a crash after the standby, it took the log again.
  

For now, the rest is OK. Long Live Remix OS. :)
