List of commonly used Apps that are working/not working

Thought that it would be a good idea to compile a list, saw another list for GPUs.  Hopefully this will help the Jide team in optimizing the OS for further update releases, probably helps to explain the problems encountered as well.
Also saves time for us on Apps to avoid. I am a leisure user so hopefully users who use more productivity-related or work-related apps can share their experience as well. Do add in on existing ones if there are more problems with them!

Minecraft, sim city, pen and paper, asphalt 7, Aralon(both), Hill Climb racing and a few others I have forgotten.

The key to most game and some apps is to go into the settings>apps and click on the app and enable it to full screen. This will help with the touch being off and making it seem as though it is not working.
You may need to enable the developer settings or tap on something in there to get more "experimental" options.

Others have listed more that I have check and I agree with them so I am not going to re-post them.

I cant believe im typing this on the desktop version of the site in the chrome browser.... running th OS off of my usb. My system is 2gb of ram... listening to streaming music on tidal hifi. Multiple apps open...

Downloaded antutu benchmark but couldnt use it becuase the seperate 3d benchmark app wasnt compatible with my device..

Usingg Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11. Intel Celeron N3050 intel hd gfx. Really low end.

Also have wunderlist and gmail open. Again... Running all of this off of a thumb drive.

Not yet at the point where I feel safe dong any IMPORTANT work on here. Few force quits here and there... I couldnt even run the alpha... all this is a huge improvement.

I am going to try to download some of the apps that wont run for you guys so we can identify the driver and hardware issues.

**UPDATE** Just tested the camera app.. Worked fine... Someone mentioned skype might not work becuase remix doesnt work with the camera...

I am on the 32 bit March 1 release. Netflix and the TWC TV app don't just work; Remix turned my old barely usable Windows notebook into a smokin' fast media machine. They are both working extremely well; full screen, high quality, no lag picture and sound. Microsoft RDP works - I logged in to servers at the office and got some work done under Remix and it was faster than running RDP under Windows. The notebook barely runs Windows 10 and I used it almost exclusively for browsing and RDP. Video is painful under Windows and crazy fast in Remix. FB and GMail apps works but I prefer the browser in both cases. FB pixelates the pictures, blowing up thumbnails instead of giving me high res bigger pictures in the app. GMail gives me the tablet mode and I find the web interface easier to use. X-plore file manager works well.  Except for a problem with sleep mode, I am a poster child for the perfect install experience. I didn't have to configure anything. Unpack, run the install tool, reboot. choose Remix, download APK for Play, run it, reboot and start getting things from the play store. Mouse, keyboard, Wifi and video just worked. Nothing crashed; tried a few things that didn't work or looked awful.

The guys at Jide should look at the Code from rooted PhoenixOS. Snapchat is working over there. Don't know why. But Camera doesen't work on Phoenix, Remix and vanilla Android x86, what is a bit annoying.

This may be a hint for everybody:
If an app fails to run, rightclick on it, App Details, "Open in fullscreen mode" switch to ON.
That made also my IceCat Mobile to run!

I have no problems with Google Docs.  Slides and Sheets both seem to work fine as well.   Dunno about Netflix since I have limited bandwith, but I use Kodi to access my DLNA media-server (a BeagleBone running Debian with a 750GB hard drive and a USB adaptor) and can play locally on Kodi or stream it to my LG TV via UPNP.   All works nicely.  I don't see a Netflix plugin for Kodi, but youtube and about 100 others are supported.

You can use Kodi to play YouTube.  Look in the add-ons.

I'm using an ASUS X200CA - little slow netbook, and my HP Laptop (quad-core, 8GB RAM).   Apps seem fine on both, although some apps don't like aspect ratios that aren't close to 16:9 - in which case I just full-screen them.  I also have working Widgets since I have Experimental -> Enable File Mode turned off (Desktops are not file managers - that was popular in the 90s and started in the 70s ... its dead, let it die).

FX File Manager works wonderfully (as always), Chrome and all the Google Apps, FX Text Edit, QuickEdit, QuickPic, Torque (last I checked), Atlas browser, Chromecast, Miracast (from compatible apps like AllScreen - but no screen mirror), Backup+, Kodi, Blackplayer (lovely), K@ Mail (wish Linux had this app), Juice SSH, Today Calendar (if you have issues, make it full screen or phone sized), Catlog, and Viper4Android (requires hacking that will break auto-updates).  Box, DropBox, and Drive all work (form their own apps and from FX File Manager), SMB access from FX and Kodi works fine.

Most games (2D and 3D) seem to work fine like GL Tron, The Room, Cyclone 2000, and others (I don't play many and often delete them after testing).  Most benchmarks work, including those that need OpenGL ES 3.0.  

PowerAmp does NOT work.  It used to on older Remix versions, but it thinks its running on an ARM and tells you that you downloaded the x86 version.  I dunno.  Use Blackplayer!  I use it in my car too since my car runs Android.

Also, please note that some apps like SnapChat will fail because they have detected that RemixOS is rooted.  The usual fix for this is to either unroot (I'll cry if remix does this officially) or hack it further and install Xposed and a module to hide root and hack snapchat :)   However, either of these solutions requires a writable system partition.  Remix has made this VERY difficult to do, and with good reason.  First, it cuts down on tech support from people messing things up.  Second, it allows binary patching to be done so that updates are quick and fairly painless.   Changing system.img makes automatic updates nearly impossible and quite difficult.

Now .. if someone were to make a rescue system that could "flash" the latest Remix versions from a grub entry (either the entire new image or maintain a "clean" version and a list of mods like Xposed and Viper to apply to that), we could do some really cool stuff.    The problem is setting up the storage space and install instructions for such a beast on such divergent systems.   If a fellow developer wants to help tackle it, email me.
