vmware tools or virtualbox add-ons?

Has anyone tried installing vmware tools or the virtualbox add ons in any virtual instance?

If so, which one(s) work for android?

I've been able to install Remix in both vmware player and virtualbox, on a Toshiba Satellite C55 running Windows 10, 

but neither one works on my Dell d630 running Ubuntu - both just go into a reboot every time, most likely due to a vga mismatch.

... Android X86 installs just fine in Virtualbox on the Dell, but Google Play does not work in any of the builds I've tried.

I'm waiting for a USB3 stick to arrive to try on the Toshiba laptop.

i installed Remix OS in VMware, also play store works well. i'm gonna give a try installing vmware tools from command line (terminal emulator)

Love to know how you got it to work on VMWare. I'm running VMWare Workstation 11 and I can't get it to work at all. It just hang on the RemixOS screen for ever.

Can you export your VM then post it for others to import, I have had literally no luck getting this to Install in a VM.

i have a low upload bandwidth but i can try to upload the vmdk as soon as possible.
