CalDAV -- Sync Suggestions/feedback

May I suggest the following features for consideration:-

1. Provide the ability to choose sync options when using an external calendar. I use Google Calendar and everytime I open the main RF interface it syncs with Google Calendar. Depending on how much data is in my Google Calendar this can be a slow process and in my case results in the title bar of RF showing the "Not Responding" message when it is actually still processing and does go on to complete the sync process. While it is synching, CPU use does escalate quite a bit. It would also be great if the sync frequency could be specified.

2. In conjunction with 1. could the sync process be scheduled to occur in the background or could it just grab all of the current day's data and then sync the rest in the background?

3. In conjunction with the above, are there any tweaks, changes or improvements that could be made in collecting data from the Google Calendar API to make the synching process smoother, faster and less resource intensive?

At the moment I have removed Google Calendar and I currently have no external calendars synching.
