Hello

I have had reminder fox on my computer running windows 7 home edition for the past several years and have come to rely on it.

In the past couple of days, I have encountered a problem I would appreciate your help with.  For what ever reason, reminder fox has stopped working.  What does work is the pink ribbon on the bottom right corner of my screen once I am connected to the internet.  After going on line, within a few seconds, a box comes up in the right corner showing the reminders for the next several days, then slowly lowers down out of sight as it has always done.

The problem starts when I click on the pink ribbon to bring up the program.  Now I get a blank white screen that does not give me the ability to add or see any reminders.  When I right click the pink ribbon, it shows several options that don’t apply to my problem.

I have seen in the help section that you do not lose your reminders if you reinstall Firefox or reminder fox using the same profile.  I am not sure what my profile is with Firefox.  And, am hesitant to delete the entire Firefox program, then reinstall.  I do know how to uninstall a program from the control panel and go the the Firefox web site to reinstall.

As mentioned above, reminder fox is important to my scheduling and I do not want to lose it or the current reminders I have in it.  I do not have a clue how to only delete reminder fox from Firefox as I am not that computer savvy.

Could you please email me instructions that are as simple as possible to get back going with reminder fox?

Thank you.

Hello,

thanks to a note send in from Mic I have to add an important point to my previous note:

Reminderfox stores it's data with the standard setup to a file "reminderfox.ics" in a directory named "reminderfox". That directory is part of the Firefox (or Thunderbird) profile directory.

As long as you didn't loose that directory you should be able to recover your reminders, also with a new install of Reminderfox.

There are two situations you have to take care for:

1. Installing a new operating system (with formatting your disc), the old Firefox/Thunderbird profile -- which holds the Reminderfox data as well -- you will lose your data. So you need to backup the Reminderfox data BEFORE installing a new system.

2. Firefox promotes "Reset Firefox to its default state" on the [Help] --> [Troubleshooting information].
That mode will reset the Firefox profile. Also it was reported the "reminderfox" directory has been moved to a directory "Old Firefox Data"  and the "reminderfox" data could be rebuild from there. Anyway we recommend to make an extra backup BEFORE using that Firefox reset.

To find your reminderfox data, normally you see the location with opening the [Options] --> [File]. There you also has an [Import/Export] facility.
