Reminderfox 2.1.5.4 and previous release: I mark items Completed in tabbed Alert/Notification Dialog using dropdown menu, and press OK. The next time the dialog opens, the item is displayed again and as if it's still pending. The Completed status doesn't "stick." This also often happens if I mark it completed in the main list window.

Hi!

I haven't seen this so I'll have to leave it for the developers to comment.

To make their job easier, could you please paste the following information in a reply to this email:
ReminderFox  [2.1.5.4]   release    <'20160102_1100'>
  Profile directory: E:\Data\Profiles\Thunderbird\Paul - default
  Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/38.5.0 (en-GB)
You can get this information if you open the About window for ReminderFox (right click on the Foxy icon, and select About ReminderFox) - this automatically copies this information.  Then, come to the reply to this email and select paste (e.g. Ctrl + V).

Thanks

Paul

Please reply to this email - I got the reply-to address wrong in the first one.

I have a suspicion that I too might have seen this intermittently
(2.1.5.4 on Ubuntu 15.10) but have not managed to tie it down. I am
going to keep a record of what I mark complete and see if I can
confirm.

Hi David,

Thanks for replying with the install string. So you have the very last version, good to know.

Do you use a remote server or remote calendar (like fruux or GCal) together with Reminderfox?
If yes, please export one of those reminders and send it to me "gneandr" at "web" . "de".
Sending the event/reminder is easy with your Thunderbird. Please open the Reminderfox Main Dialog. Point to that reminder, use the right mouse click to activate the context menu. The very last item is "Export / Send reminder .. ". Just follow the steps, you can send it direct or store it to a file and send that.
Hope to see the reason for the problem that way.

Thanks for your cooperation

Hello friends,

A few thoughts about the Alarm Handling with Sync.

The good news : think we can fix it ... have to ask for a little patience ... because more tests are required!

The details:  .... only for readers who are curious about technique  ;)

Based on Rolfs ics data and my this morning analysis I suspect it's a problem with the different Alarm handling of Reminderfox and GCalendar (not looked at fruux already).

Alarm definition is handled by both the same/standard based way. But only with the time span the alarm has to be fired before the event time. Not the Snooze handling!

And when GCal sync's the calendars to RmFX within the Alarm definition GCal doesn't sends any Snooze details; not it's own snooze handling and only sends back the "last" snooze values RmFX had send with the last sync RmFX --> GCal.

Now if RmFX has changed its Alarm Snooze values, but the changed event wasn't send to GCal -- the next sync  GCal --> RmFX would overwrite the actual RmFX alarm/snooze values.

To prove that situation I'm doing some more tests (also with fruux) the next days.

If you have any observations here, please let me know.

Thanks for your help

Hi Guenter,
Probably, my usage of RFox is un(der)sophisticated but I can only observe that I *always* only use 'Add Event' in 'Reminders', never 'ToDo's', and *never* use 'Snooze'.  Maybe I should learn a better way or maybe 'Snooze' could have an option to switch off....  RFox Lite?  :-P
Thanks,
Rolf

Hi Guenter and others,

With about two weeks of testing, I have (so far) confirmed that this problem does not recur here after Google Calendar has been disconnected from Reminderfox. Maybe you already knew this, but I wanted to let you know, since I was the one who originally raised this issue. I'll wait for the next Reminderfox revision before I try syncing again.

Thank you for your kind attention and diligence.
