Hi Reminderfox users,
every now and then we receive user requests "I lost all my reminders! How to retrieve?"
With such a request Mic/foxi posted:

I'm thinking that he had a clean install as Windows 8 can't upgrade from Vista with programs intact.
There could be a backup of the Vista files on the hard drive though. So searching the entire physical
hard drive for *.ics is the key - Windows 8 only searches indexed files by default so google on how to
search the full hard drive.
Following that advice the user found his reminder/todo/list data and he was able to import it to the new installation!
How about a little precaution?
Store a reminder on your Reminderfox calendar like this:
