Hi

This is slightly related to my previous but different at the same time
and hence the new post. I am writing a new service. When I call the
authorization url, it shows me the "Ok, I'll allow it" button and when
click it, it says successful. But when I go into my Settings->Services
tab I don't see anything.

The way I accessing the authorization url is as if my services is a
webbased one without any call back url. That way RTM returns me the
frob which I am planning to use to get the Token but I don't see
permissions assigned.

Thanks
Jeevan

Maybe it would help if you share the call you make.  It's hard to troubleshoot without the information :)

Ok, let me get this right...you DONT want the callback url set...why?
Your users will get the ugly "No callback URL specified for this API
key" message.

"That way RTM returns me the frob which I am planning to use to get
the Token but I don't see permissions assigned."

Planning? so you havnt already done this? You need the token for the
service to appear in the users account.

Hi

Sorry for the late response, was on vacation. I am trying to write my
own windows application (not web application) to read the data from
RTM. When I call the Auth url, I am getting back the frob but when I
click the url with the frob (to give access), my application is not
getting the needed access. Thats why I tried calling the url from web
to see if atleast that would give the rights.

Thanks
Jeevan

After clicking the "OK I'll Allow it" button in the RTM interface, you
will need to send a "rtm.auth.getToken" call with the frob. That's how
you lock in the needed access. All the "OK I'll Allow it" button does
is let your API key make that call. At least, this is my understanding
of the workflow. Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
