We've all heard the news about Megan and know that the funeral is
this Saturday. I also know that a lot of people who would have wanted
to be there won't be able to. A lot of people have expressed the
desire to come together with other Vassar alums who knew and loved
Megan in order to honor her memory and celebrate her life. I know
that, personally, all I want is to surround myself with those who fully
understand what a loss the world has suffered with the departure of
such a wonderful and caring friend, and to celebrate how she filled
everyone's lives.
On Saturday, January 7th, at 7pm, I would like to make such a
gathering possible. Nick Loss-Eaton has generously volunteered his
apartment in Brooklyn to host the event. The address is as follows:
Nick Loss-Eaton
110 Huron Street # 2R
Brooklyn, NY 11222
Via subway you can take the G Train to Greenpoint Ave. And it's just
a couple blocks from there.
Should the response to this email be too large for even the roomy
confines of Nick's apartment, then the event will move to a nearby
pub a short walk from Nick's. I will send out an announcement of
that location should it prove necessary.
Nick Loss-Eaton, Heather Cohn, Kenan Rubenstein, and Ian
Crowther so far have said they can offer a place to crash to
individuals coming in from out of town who would need a place to stay.
I have included contact information for these individuals below, should
you desire to get in touch with them. If you also live in or around
NYC and would like to offer your home for the night to people traveling
in on that weekend, please reply to everyone with your contact info.
Or better yet, so that people don't get annoyed with lots of emails,
post it here. I don't know what kind of a response this email will
generate but I do know that Megan was well-loved by a great many people
and so any extra space that anyone can spare will be appreciated.
In the meantime, if anyone has a picture of a favorite Meg
moment and would like to share it, please send it to me via email at
nellly...@yahoo.com, or snail mail and it will be there. This is an
address I made specifically to receive these pictu res. I will also
put these photos together in a scrap book. Feel free to send an
explanation of the picture with it to be included in the book, or just
send the picture. The scrap book will be available at the event for
everyone to look at and add any personal messages in the pages that
they care to. If you cannot make it to the event but still wish to
send pictures and/or a message to be included in the scrap book, please
feel free to do so. This book (or books) will then be sent to
Megan's family, so they can share in those memories and know that
Megan is sorely missed (ie- send copies, you will not get the photos
back).
If you wish to send the photos via snail mail, I will be at
home until January 2nd and if you can send them to that address before
then it would be easier for me to put everything together there. The
address is:
Nell Fay
1046 Wyndham Drive
York, PA 17403
After that I will be back up in Boston until the 6th. And you can
continue to send me pictures there. My address in Boston is:
Nell Fay
279 Main Street Apt. 2
Charlestown, MA 02129
Megan Perry died in the act of helping others. My life is enriched
for having known her, and I am sure all of you feel the same. To that
end, we will also be accepting donations at this event. These will be
sent to the Common Grou nd Collective, for which Megan volunteered.
Checks can be made out to the Common Ground Collective. If you will
not be at the event but still wish to donate, you may mail checks to me
and I will add them to our collections, or you can donate to the Common
Ground Collective directly by going to:
http://www.commongroundrelief.org/donate/.
So that we can get an idea of the amount of space that we will need
available for this event, please email me at nellly...@yahoo.com if
you are planning on or even thinking about attending and tell me how
many people you will be bringing. And if Nick's apartment does not
prove sizable enough to accommodate everyone, then we will find and
name an alternative venue for that date.

Please join us on January 7th in remembering and celebrating the life
of Megan Perry, who we all love and miss.
PS - I also sent this out via email and tried to collect as many
emails as I could from the messages I was forewarded. I know there are
a lot of addresses probably missing from those I have sent this to. If
you could pass this message down the Megan chain to anyone who would be
interested who may not be checking this site, that would be
appreciated. Thank you.
Hugs and hope to see you there,
~Nell
