Hi Remakery directors and colleagues,

On Saturday I was contacted by the London Service Jam, who want to bring around 60-70 people (teams of service designers and other creatives) to the Remakery this coming Saturday 8th March! They are hiring a Routemaster bus for the day to drive around various interesting sites of social innovation in London, and would like to make the Remakery one of their stop-offs. See timetable below.

I thought it sounded like a good way to let more people know about the Remakery (we can do a 10 min presentation) and we might also inspire some of the Service Jam teams to focus on a brief relating to the Remakery's services.

Please let me know what you think - is it problematic to bring large numbers on site at the moment? One issue I'm not sure about is where to park the bus...

If any of you can be there to co-present the Remakery that would be great...

Hannah

Hello Hannah

Great talking to you on the phone earlier. Sorry for the delay, we have been working out the timings, which are approximately listed below:

12:30 - Two organisers arrive ahead of bus.
12:40 - The bus would be arriving, we were wondering if you have parking
12:50 - It would be great if you could then give a 10 min talk about Remakery and the awesome things you guys are doing. As I said on the phone, this year we are encouraging teams to tackle social and community issues, though we can't lead teams down a path to set them a brief. But at the point of your talk, teams will probably have an idea of what they want to tackle. Having just carried out user research, teams will be looking to find solutions and create fast prototypes. At this point in the weekend we think it would be great for you to talk about the key things that you have learnt on your journey.
15:00 - Teams pack up things.
15:20 - Bus leaves Remakery - two organisers can stay behind to continuing clearing up if there is more to do.

What we need:
  • Tables and chairs are the only thing we really need.
  • If you have Wifi that would be great
  • If you have materials you want to offer us thats great, but not necessary.

We expect the total amount of people to be 60 people.

Assuming you can let us use the space for free, we would be very pleased to put you on our website and tweet about as a sponsor of the Jam, see our London Service Jam website for more details on the other sponsors that we have. The event is not for profit, all of the mentors and organisers volunteer their time and all of the sponsorship and tickets go towards making the event as special as possible. The jam is part of a global event, with probably about 100 events happening worldwide, which you can find out more about here.

You and a colleague are welcome to come along to the Google Campus on the Friday. You are also welcome to come along to come along for the presentations, with 2-3 people, at the Design Museum on the Sunday. The presentation will start about 3pm and we will be going to a pub once we have wrapped everything up at about 6pm.

I hope that is all fine. If you have any questions please you can call me on 07746 21 74 99. Look forwards to hearing from you Monday.

All the best
Rob Maslin
