The software consists of two components: a server, and a client. The server is installed on the machine, or machines you would like to control. The client is then used to connect and control those remote machines.

In many cases it is not necessary to install the Server. If you have windows administrator access to the remote machine and it is on your LAN, the client will automatically push the Server to the remote machine for you.

In the box type the hostname or IP address of the computer you would like to control. If the machine is on your local network you can click on the find button next to the hostname edit area. Once this button is clicked, IntelliAdmin will search your network for machines:

Simply select a computer from the list, or start typing text to find the name of the computer you are looking for and click OK. After you click connect, the remote control client will attempt to control the machine:

When that happens you can easily zoom in by holding down control and pressing page up and page down. You can grab the zoomed image by clicking on it with the mouse while holding control (These hotkeys can be changed in the settings)

Security features in newer versions of Windows like XP SP2/3, Vista, and Windows 7 may prevent automatic install from working properly. To remotely install, an exception for file and printer sharing needs to be made in the firewall.

There are a few different ways an XML file can be used to pull computers for the find window. The first is via an HTTP, or HTTPS XML URL. You can specify a web URL that returns XML in the format shown before. The remote control client will check this URL for changes every time the user clicks the find button.

When the client connects to the remote server, it will automatically add it to the computer database that shows up in the find window. In addition, it pulls the current username, computer name, operating system and service pack. All of this can be used to quickly find the host in the find window. You can customize this by changing the settings under Automatic Computer Listings:

It is possible to prevent your mouse movements and keyboard input from being sent, and it is also possible to prevent the remote user from accessing the mouse or keyboard while you are connected. Simply check the appropriate option in the settings window:

This key combination can be sent to the remote host by pressing CTRL-ALT-INSERT all at the same time. This is the default setting, and it can be changed if you want to use a different key combination:

If you are using IntelliAdmin to control machines all over your LAN you can save a default set of credentials. These will be used before asking you to enter a username and password. To set default credentials, go into the settings window, and click on the usernames and passwords tab. You can enter them after enabling it:

Is anyone familiar with this firm? They make a variety of PC related utilities, some remote control/access products, a usb disabling product. I've dealt with them on and off over the years even chatted with Steve via email a few times.

The principal developer and company owner Steve Wiseman passed away. Really a bummer, he was a friendly fellow that wrote good articles on technical matters. and I really liked having an on-prem remote support tool. The TLS ciphers is uses are out of date, you really shouldn't be using it any more.

We use intelliadmin on a point to point basis, internally. We never used ciphers...so will probably continue to use it. they should make it a freeware or something if someone is not taking it over.

Your client can know that you are connected to their computer or you can enable spy mode, in that case they will not.
Another feature is that if you connect to remote desktop server, you can easily select users session and log in.

Intelliadmin works for us, if you have requirement for remote control,

Just curious on the potential risk behind these apps versus some other if there is a more in depth description of the concern anywhere?
