Thisgoes on for the entire chef run and cannot be overridden with the "-l" switch or by setting log level in client.rb

I tried with 18.2.7 and this version behaves like normal...

Does anybody now what is going on here and how I can silence v18.3?

this was a mistake that was pulled in while debugging an ssl issue. The code was added as puts statements and now has been updated to not show unless debug logging has been turned on. 18.2.7 doesn't have that and the next release coming out hopefully end of next week 18.4.x should have the fix in it.

The following diagram shows the relationships between the variouselements of Chef Infra, including the nodes, the server, and theworkstation. These elements work together to provide the Chef InfraClient the information and instruction that it needs so that it can doits job. As you are reviewing the rest of this topic, use the icons inthe tables to refer back to this image.

Workstation systems run the Chef Workstation package which includes tools such as Chef Infra Client, Chef InSpec, Test Kitchen, ChefSpec, Cookstyle, and other tools necessary for developing and testing your infrastructure with Chef products.

Ruby is the programming language that's the authoring syntax for cookbooks. Most recipes are simple patterns (blocks that define properties and values that map to specific configuration items like packages, files, services, templates, and users. The full power of Ruby is available for when you need a programming language.

Chef Infra Client is installed on each node that's managed with Chef Infra. Chef Infra Client configures the node locally by performing the tasks specified in the run-list. Chef Infra Client will also pull down any required configuration data from the Chef Infra Server during a Chef Infra Client run.

The Chef Infra Client accesses the Chef Infra Server from the node on which it's installed to get configuration data, performs searches of historical Chef Infra Client run data, and then pulls down the necessary configuration data. After a Chef Infra Client run is finished, the Chef Infra Client uploads updated run data to the Chef Infra Server.

Start your infrastructure automation with Chef Workstation. Chef Workstation gives you everything you need to get started with Chef - ad hoc remote execution, remote scanning, configuration tasks, cookbook creation tools as well as robust dependency and testing software - all in one easy-to-install package.

The directory structure within the chef-repo varies. Some organizations prefer to keep all of their cookbooks in a single chef-repo, while other organizations prefer to use a chef-repo for every cookbook.

The Chef Infra Client uses Ruby as its reference language for creatingcookbooks and defining recipes, with an extended DSL for specificresources. A reasonable set of resources are available to the Chef InfraClient, enough to support many of the most common infrastructureautomation scenarios; however, this DSL can also be extended whenadditional resources and capabilities are required.

The Chef Infra Client will run a recipe only when asked. When the Chef Infra Client runs the same recipe more than once, the results will be the same system state each time. When a recipe is run against a system, but nothing has changed on either the system or in the recipe, the Chef Infra Client won't change anything.

Chef has many built-in resources that cover all of the most common actions across all of the most common platforms. You can build your own resources to handle any situation that's not covered by a built-in resource.

Chef Infra Client is an agent that runs locally on every node that is under management by Chef Infra Server. When Chef Infra Client runs, it performs all of the steps required for bringing a node into the expected state, including:

Ohai is a tool for collecting system configuration data, which it then provides to Chef Infra Client to use in cookbooks. Chef Infra Client runs Ohai at the start of every Chef Infra run to determine system state. The attributes that Ohai collects are called automatic attributes. Chef Infra Client uses these attributes to ensure that nodes are in the desired state after each configuration run.

A cookbook version represents a set of functionality that is differentfrom the cookbook on which it is based. A version may exist for manyreasons, such as ensuring the correct use of a third-party component, updating a bug fix, or adding an improvement. A cookbook version isdefined using syntax and operators, may be associated with environments, cookbook metadata, and/or run-lists, and may be frozen (to preventunwanted updates from being made).

Chef is a thin DSL (domain-specific language) built on top of Ruby. Thisapproach allows Chef to provide just enough abstraction to makereasoning about your infrastructure easy. Chef includes a built-intaxonomy of all the basic resources one might configure on a system, plus a defined mechanism to extend that taxonomy using the full power ofthe Ruby language. Chef chose Ruby because it provides the flexibilityto use both the simple built-in taxonomy, as well as being able tohandle any customization path your organization requires.

I have seen the power food can have over our health, either to aid in healing or to further create disease. As a holistic chef, cooking for clients for over 15 years, I have experience working with food allergies, special diets, and diseases like cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune conditions. I am so proud to have added being a certified Wahls health practitioner to my wellness toolkit as well.

All of my experience, watching the effect food has on our health naturally led me to find Dr. Terry Wahls and The Wahls Protocol. More and more of my friends and family had something going wrong with their bodies that suggested the beginnings of an autoimmune condition. Why was this happening to them? I had been following Dr. Wahls for many years, and I was so excited when she created the Wahls Protocol Health Practitioner Certification program.

The Wahls Protocol is a functional medicine approach to treating multiple sclerosis. The Protocol utilizes many modalities for healing including diet, flooding the body with nutrients and crowding out the inflammatory foods, therapies like estim and red light, as well as teaching patients to uplevel their self care and detoxification.

I decided to test this on myself, someone with no known diseases. I wanted to see how I felt following the 9 cups rule of sulfur, colors, and greens. We all know we should eat more vegetables and less junk anyway. I also wanted to understand just what it took to cook this Protocol every day. A recent food allergy test showed I was reacting to eggs, so I cut that out of my daily breakfast, and going egg-free fits right into the Protocol anyway.

I am still a full-time Chef and I specialize in cooking for people with food allergies and on medically necessary diets. Now I also cook for people following the Wahls Protocol. The science-backed and real-life tested principles of the Protocol informs all of my cooking. I always add more color into the dishes I prepare. I use her dietary protocols for my clients with food allergies and I know that I am helping them to heal.

Through this training and membership in this community, I am seeing every day the real evidence of people following her protocol and healing themselves, of reversing their symptoms, of getting up and walking again. This kind of change is evident in the MS community, but also for people with other autoimmune diseases too like Lupus, Lyme, etc.

The requirement to be a certified Wahls Health Practitioner when I got certified was to have a prior nutrition certification from a group like the NTA. Then we had to attend the The Wahls Protocol Seminar in Iowa (pre-covid). I already believed in what Dr. Wahls was doing, and attending the Seminar allowed me to hear firsthand stories from all the attendees how their lives had been transformed. You can now attend the Seminar virtually instead of traveling, and still meet the amazing community of people living this lifestyle. You will be connected to other health professionals doing the same work as you, who have the same goals and beliefs in working with food and nutrition.

As a health practitioner, you will have access to monthly Q&A calls with Dr. Wahls and other certified professionals providing an opportunity to learn directly from her and from each other. You will also be listed on her health professionals directory on her website.

Would you like more information about the nutrition certification program I went through? The education I received from the NTA has transformed how I look at my own health in addition to how I help my clients improve how they feel.

If you would like to work with me, sign up for a Wellness Session here, where we will go over your current health and symptoms and together create a path to move forward into eating better and feeling better.

My Multiple Sclerosis symptoms started last year, I could not tolerate the medications prescribed for long. I started on MS Herbal Treatment from VHC, the herbal treatment immensely helped my Multiple Sclerosis condition, i had a significant recovery with this natural treatment. Students in my 11th grade US History class typically read four non-fiction books in addition to their History textbook. I have noticed that their note-taking skills, attention to detail, and recall of historical figures in the text need to improve. As students advance through upper-division work text complexity increases, yet the amount of reading instruction decreases. This can result in real problems in college where professors expect their students to do three hours of reading in the subject-area for every hour they spend in class. This post will describe an instructional sequence that helps students focus on the historical characters in a nonfiction reading using an Iron Chef protocol, a Who Am I? narrative writing technique, and a video response system that improves student speaking and listening skills.
