Wednesday week" is normal British English, and you have interpreted the meaning correctly. There's also "fortnight" used in exactly the same way, although possibly more rarely ("Wednesday fortnight" is two weeks from Wednesday).
I've heard Wednesday week and Wednesday fortnight used, mainly by English people. English speakers in Wales would be more likely to reverse this to 'a week Wednesday' or 'a fortnight Wednesday'. For example 'we will meet again a fortnight Wednesday'.
I have a daily date table and I would like one of the columns in there to be the date of the previous tuesday. By this, I mean that I would a column that contains the same date for a Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tue before then updating 7 days in advance to the date of the Wednesday. Essentially having a week running from Wednesday to Tuesday.
To give you an example:
I have found a couple of different methods on line but neither work 100% with them either being a day out through the year, or the calculation being made using the previous year end, which means it stops working when it hits a new year.
This will place Week Numbers next to all of your lines. Now you can do your filtering based on Weeknumbers. If you do this as part of a Date Dimension table, you can do a lookup from any date to the WeekNumber
I'd suggest, if you don't have one, create a Date Dimension table ( -bi-date-dimension/) which you can link to your other data. The weeknumber formula you just created, could be placed into this table instead. Now you'll have a direct link between Dates and Week numbers. Lastly create another column which contains date data, but is something like "Week Starting" or "Week Ending". This column will contain the data you will put on your axis.
A formula you can use for this is
@Anonymous Thanks a lot Ross. It works perfectly for me. However I don't want the new WeekNum to appear on the X-axis. Instead I want to use the date of the start of the week on the axis. For example, instead of showing 14, 15, I want to show 29/03/2017, 05/04/2017 on the X-axis. How can I do that?
My issue is this:I want to get Tuesday of NEXT WEEK. So if I'm currently on Monday, I want it to go 7 days forward to next week, then evaluate "next Tuesday". Is there a way to chain the date evaluations somehow?
The only way to do this reliably is to first get the next "beginning of week day" (which might vary from region to region; for this I'll assume it's Sunday), then request a day 0-6 days in the future, where 0 through 6 stand in for Sunday through Saturday, respectively.
You need a trigger. An easy one would be the time you want the reminder to show.
Then the conditions would be the weekday Wednesdays and the odd/even week.
If all of them are true the action will be performed.
What do I really want? What do I want my one life to really be about? Even the calendar this week is turning to look toward Jesus and what He did with His one life. Because He wanted to live given into an intimate relationship with us most.
Beautiful things can genuinely be made into meaningful things, beautiful can definitely be made into faithful things, and certainly, thank God Almighty, there is no definitive black and white line in the sand between beautiful and meaningful.
I sit before the flames of the lenten wreath with the wooden silhouette of Jesus carrying a cross around the wreath, around the world, around time and the cosmos and at the heart of the universe is a servant bending low, giving away His heart, never doubt this.
Silent Wednesday is for taking time to intentionally turn off the world, and hushing our souls, and lighting a candle, and sitting with His Love Letter, His very Word, and paying attention to the beauty of the heart of the only One who has ever loved us to death and back to the realest life in His Love.
Silent Wednesday is for the free beauty of taking a walk under some trees, soaking in His glory, and having a prayer walk in silence with the One who never stops whispering your name, beckoning you to Himself.
Silent Wednesday is about pausing to gaze on the beauty of God, the only loveliness and beauty who ever fulfills, because Love is a Person and His name is Beautiful.
Using Python I would like to find the date object for last Wednesday. I can figure out where today is on the calendar using isocalendar, and determine whether or not we need to go back a week to get to the previous Wednesday. However, I can't figure out how to create a new date object with that information. Essentially, I need to figure out how to create a date from an iso calendar tuple.
Pro-abortion rights activists gathered April 13 at a rally in Orlando, Fla., to back a referendum in November that could increase access to abortion. Nearby were activists opposed to abortion. Chandan Khanna/AFP via Getty Images hide caption
"I'm in the clinic and seeing patients and having to inform them about this ban and just watch the panic on their face," Daniels says. "It makes you realize how bans like this are so, so targeted and can change the trajectory of someone's life."
There are 14 states that ban nearly all abortions. A few others limit them to just the first six weeks of pregnancy. In Florida abortions are currently allowed up to 15 weeks until the law changes May 1.
Florida requires people to wait at least 24-hours between their first consultation and an abortion - and sometimes they don't even know they're pregnant for weeks. In these last days before the six-week ban, appointments have been filling up and staff have been working overtime.
"We recognize as healthcare providers and medical professionals that this is essential medical care," Daniels says. "So we're going to do everything we can to provide that care for as long as we're legally allowed to do so."
The six-week ban will allow exceptions for rape, incest and human trafficking up until 15 weeks of pregnancy. It also includes exceptions for fatal fetal abnormalities. And like the current 15-week ban, it will allow abortion in order to save the life of the pregnant person. But some doctors have already been hesitant to provide that care and Daniels worries the new law will make that even harder.
Daniels says there can be uncertainty about the threshold for when a pregnant woman's life is at risk and some doctors are nervous to perform abortions even when they're in danger. "Is the exception made for the health of the life of the mother, if the life of the mother is at 50% risk, or 51% risk, or 60% risk? It's impossible to actually calculate," Daniels says. "Then when you have a real patient with a real clinical scenario sitting in front of you, how are you supposed to know?"
The Tampa Bay Abortion Fund, and others like it, help with things like hotel rooms, plane tickets and the cost of an appointment at an out-of-state clinic. With the new ban looming, they're trying to raise money and expand their network of clinics.
Since the U.S. Supreme Court's overturned federal rights to abortion in Roe v. Wade, Richardson Carr says she's seen more birth mothers seeking help with adoption and she expects to see even more once the ban goes into place. That's although experts say many women who are prevented from terminating a pregnancy do not choose adoption and instead decide to parent themselves.
But Shirvell says his focus is the ballot question facing voters in November on whether to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution. He calls it a "preeminent threat" against any future legislature's ability to pass a total ban on abortion.
I send this blog out on Wednesday morning. We celebrated Palm Sunday, tomorrow is Maundy Thursday, which leads to Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday worship. But Scripture is almost quiet about the Wednesday of Passion week. What did Jesus do that Wednesday?
The disciples needed time to prepare for the Passover meal. Did Mary and Martha help with that? The Passover celebration required shopping, cooking, and planning. Was everyone bustling around Jesus with important preparations while he was praying for the strength to make an impossibly difficult sacrifice? I wonder if Jesus was looking at the faces of these close friends and disciples and grieving for what he knew they would experience after his death. I wonder if he grieved the fact that he would miss sitting with them each day, laughing, talking, and sharing ministry together.

If we are in the middle of the week and I want to refer to a day just passed in the same week, such as the case in the title, would I still say, for example, last Tuesday? Or would that mean the Tuesday before the one I mean?
Generally if you say "last Tuesday", people understand you to mean the Tuesday from the preceding calendar week. That is, if today is Wednesday and it is the 15th of the month, "last Tuesday" would mean the 7th.
If you want to refer to the day just past, simply use the name of the day. Like if it is Wednesday and you want to talk about something that happened 2 days ago, you can say, "I did that on Monday." You can also say "this past Monday" to emphasize that you mean 2 days ago and not the previous week or next week.
I've been hyperfocusing on this tonight. I think that it would be One Tuesday Ago? It's Sunday and my birthday wasn't the last Tuesday we had, but the Tuesday before that. I know it's just said as two weeks ago, but it hasn't been two weeks yet. I've always referred to it this way but someone asked why I say it like that. If I'm talking about the Tuesday of this calendar week then I say on the last Tuesday we had. If I'm talking about the Tuesday of the previous week then I say one Tuesday ago
