i have a new fiber optics Internet system but would also like to continue using my r6700v3 system as an access point or secondary router. I've tried connecting the WAN port to primary router LAN port but don't get Internet access from my Netgear router. Any suggestions?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
The NOKIA model is G-0425G-A. I'm using a CAT-6 ethernet cable. The firmware on my r6700v3 is unknown. I can no longer access my Netgear Internet and am now unable to check. I will try the other suggestions you made asp.
Your ISP ONT already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. -is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. -on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Nokia Industrial fieldrouters benefit from a highly ruggedized, anti-vibration design and IP67 rating, allowing them to be deployed indoors and outdoors in industrial environments. Nokia is pioneering the use of 5G fieldrouters to solve the challenge of reliably connecting legacy industrial equipment and vehicles to a private wireless network, allowing mining companies, port operators, manufacturers and other enterprises to benefit from Industry 4.0 use cases such as autonomous operations. Supporting a wide range of 4.9G, 5G, and CBRS bands, Nokia Industrial fieldrouters leverage a comprehensive feature set enabling them to efficiently handle data traffic using a range of protocols including PROFINET, OPC-UA, EtherCAT, and Modbus.
You can complement your Nokia Industrial device and private wireless solution with integrated Nokia Industrial device management. Providing support for zero-touch onboarding and plug and play operation of all Nokia Industrial user equipment, this allows you to scale and simplify the management of your entire device population.
Nokia Network Digital Twin transforms your Nokia Industrial IoT devices into network data collectors, enabling them to automatically feed into around 30 KPIs on your Nokia Industrial Digital Twin dashboard. Equipped with detailed historical and near-real-time information about network coverage and performance, you can optimize your network and increase reliability even in dynamically changing environments such as ports and mines.
Did you ever resolve this issue? I have a Hub Max and am in the same3 boat. Google CS said to contact the carrier and have them disable it. Like you, I have looked at EVERYTHING in the router to no avail.
I did eventually find a work around. I dont know about your router, but mine has multiple bands that were named the same thing. I had to switch to the correct band that the google device decided to connect to on my phone to connect everything properly.
I have attempted all of the above steps to no avail. I called my service provider to find out how to disconnect the AP but they are zero help. I have access to the settings but cannot find how to disable it.
Thanks for getting back to us. As much as I want to help, I'm unable to walk you through configuring your router settings because I'm unfamiliar with your particular router and network environment. If you need help or have questions, I highly recommend contacting your router manufacturer or internet service provider or check your router manual. If you have a dual-band router, try separating them by providing a unique name for both band.
Unfortunately their response was that the device I have is faulty and I should reach out to Google for a replacement. Google CS told me to call the service provider to fix the settings. Quite the aggravating dilemma. I'm about to send the **bleep** thing back.
Well, that worked. I turned on the mobile hotspot on my phone and set up the Hub Max on my wife's phone that was connected to the internet via my hotspot. The hub connected and everything works. Just as I suspected nit would. So, now the question becomes, how do I get it connected to my Nokia router.
Chiming in, happy to hear that your Nest Hub Max is working on a mobile hotspot. This looks like an issue with the Nokia router itself and not with the Nest display. Some of the settings on your router might not be compatible with the speaker that's why it's not connecting. To confirm, did the agent provide the recommended router settings for the Nest Hub Max?
No, the only recommended setting information I have is from the home app telling me to turn off AP Isolation on the router but I have yet to find that option on the router settings. I called the service provider and they are unhelpful to say the least.
We understand that your issue is isolated with your router settings. Please note that we have very limited support on your router as we don't have access to your Wi-Fi settings. It's either you contact them or check your router's manual. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyone know if I can attach another router to the Data 2 output on my Nokia Fiber modem? I have seen an answer to the extra router question that suggests a Gigabit switch between the ONT and the 2 routers but it would be simpler to use the Data 2 port no? Or is it not active?
Can you help with how to connect the ethernet cables , the Telus Modem is on the middle floor , the Nokia box is in the basement , i have 6 ethernet cables to connect that are located next to the Nokia box, Can i add a router connected to the nokia in the basement with all not connections , and have the telus modem on the middle floor as the wifi router.
It's not quite that simple. There are a number of architectural considerations as to why "bridge mode" would not be allowed. However, I'm pretty sure that the main showstopper is that Rogers' mobile networks are built on an IPv6 core and requires 464XLAT for IPv4 connectivity. That defeats "bridge mode" because there is no pool of IPv4 addresses that can be allocated to your router, nor does 464XLAT support direct inbound IPv4 connections from the public Internet.
I would also like to find a solution for this. I'm also having issues with the onboard Speed Test function - it worked for the first month and hasn't worked since it always just comes up with an error. Anyone else having this issue?
Hey @RogersTony I appreciate you looking into this further for us. By any chance did the Mobile Internet Team specify a reason why bridge mode is implicitly disabled? Clearly the device supports the ability to go into bridge mode as seen within other ISPs; I don't see any viable reasons why Rogers would require bridging to be disabled?
It's not really about how badly I need bridge mode (yes, I would really like it alternatively to a double NAT); It's really about why we are unable to enable a basic feature. Yes - In theory I could make a VPN bridge, however there are a few issues with this. For one, this is unnecessarily complex for no reason. Second of all, this will add a ton of latency to a service that already has very high latency. Lastly, as soon as the LTE/5G connection decides to dip, the VPN service will drop my connection, leaving me without Internet temporarily. This is not a viable and or reliable alternative to a true bridge.
