Ultimately, all notes are stored in markdown format. I don't think there is a way for you to have multiple font styles like you can have in Word and also multiple font sizes other than what is supported by Markdown.
I'm a convert from Evernote and it is one of the first things that I noticed. The inability to have adjustable font sizes but you do get to use the headings so you can choose I believe three different font sizes in Joplin.
Someone else mentioned that it would be wonderful if there were an option to convert the note into MD by right clicking on the note. There are options to export to MD but it would be nice to have an update to convert it and in the process remote the html. After that point, it could be edited using the MD editor and the heading options could be used.
Yep! It's all new to me, so I don't fully understand. Evernote goes a little higher level. Just take notes, edit text, and whatnot...
Joblin gets into "what note format they are stored in" etc, which Evernote never touched on.
Just come across this issue myself. Found a resolve, not sure if this will work for everyone. I was trying to edit a PDF that was using the Calibri font which I didn't have on my macbook. I then went and downloaded it using an external website but I couldn't use in it Acrobat. Acrobat uses fonts from 'Adobe Fonts' since the newest CC update. I found and downlaoded the font on Adobe Fonts and its now working.
Thanks for your input. Sorry, but I don't follow the suggestion. When I try to edit any text in the document, I am unable to select the "Officina Sans ITC Book" option. It appears at the bottom of the drop down list of fonts, but is grey and "frozen out" - and can not be selected.
I am having the same issue. Our college uses Myriad Pro Regular. I could edit this same document last year before my computer was updated this summer. Now I'm having this issue and I don't see any fix on this so far.
Having same issue. Did a recent Creative Cloud update and although Acrobat wasn't in the update, I now cannot type with Open Sans Condensed on the document that I just typed with that font in Acrobat last week. It's not just this font either. Word types with it fine, Fontbook says the font is fine. Acrobat will actually edit the text of the first line of my old document in Open Sans Condensed until I hit a carriage return then it gives me that same error message that the original font is not available and using Geneva in its place. Very odd that font won't work. I downloaded a version of the font and re-installed, even changed the name of it, but to no use. Stuck in font prison and can't text my way out. Send help.
Ever get a fix? I have the same issue. I have a PDF that I have to fill out 3 times (slightly different) every 2 weeks. Most of the info is the same. We just edit dates and times in about 30 different locations. I get, "The origianl font Arial is not available or can't be used in editing. Adobe Acrobat is using the fong Z...@R9366.tmp in its place." Then instead of an actual font I have just squares.
Same problem! Would love a response. I've downloaded and installed the fonts, verified them, and they work fine in word, but if I have to do a last minute word change in a pdf...can't do it. Have to go back to the designer/original to get this simple thing done. Costs time.
It happens equally with any fonts obtained from anywhere. You would think that Adobe would have gone to the trouble of resolving this for their paying customers after so many years of this issue existing.
Same issue as everyone else. I am experienceing the same exact thing as @editbreath. It will allow me to edit one word but the second I move to another box it defualts to Geneva with the error message. Its ridiculous how many people have complained about this same issue and there still hasn't been a solid resolution. HELLO ADOBE?! ANYONE THERE?!
This actually worked for me. I had added Garamond in Adobe fonts, exited out of all applications, with no dice. Then did this resync and now Garamond isn't greyed out on Acrobat, so easy but so so so stupid. Thank you for the guidance.
Same issue as everyone else. I am experienceing the same exact thing. It will allow me to edit one word but the second I move to another word or text or box it defualts to Geneva with the error message.
I really miss the possibility of changing the font size and font type in the editor for each word individually. This is something that exists in every text editing software (for example Word) and I really miss it.

Scaling text is when the size of your text changes to fill a certain area of your site. Our responsive design ensures that text fits any screen size. How your site's text scales depends on your site's version.
To change a font tweak, open site styles. Depending on the template you're using, you'll see different options and names for these font groups. Font tweaks can be identified by the title of the group they affect and the small arrow that opens additional options.
If you can't find the text group you want to change, learn more about your template's style options in your template's guide. You can also click text on a page to display its tweaks in site styles. Click Show All to return to the full list.
Make the text larger or smaller. Each text type features one or more size options. For example, Headings includes sliders for Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, and Heading 4 formatting in the Size section. You can also change the text size in individual text blocks using the text toolbar.
Select or search for a Google or Adobe Font. You'll see curated selections towards the top of the menu. Scroll down to browse our full library, or use the search field at the top of the menu if you know the name of a font you want to use.
After adding Adobe Fonts, you can apply them to text on your site. The fonts in your web project replace the built-in Adobe Fonts in site styles. To quickly find a custom Adobe Font, search for it by name in the Search box.
You'll see this message if your site is using a font that Adobe Fonts retired. When the font is no longer supported, we'll replace it on Squarespace with the closest match available. Review the style sections listed in the error to approve or change the replacement font.
If none of your fonts are displaying, check your site for any JavaScript. If you ever used Adobe Fonts' JavaScript method to add fonts to your site, your fonts may not load properly. Remove the JavaScript and follow the steps above to add your Adobe Fonts.
If you're having trouble adding your Adobe Fonts Project ID, or if Adobe Fonts aren't appearing in your site, contact us and we can help you troubleshoot. For all other questions about using Adobe Fonts, contact them or visit their documentation.
Before following these steps, determine if the issue is related to your browser. If browser troubleshooting doesn't solve the issue, review this section for other common situations you might encounter when changing fonts.
When copying and pasting text, it's possible to copy over formatting that interferes with Squarespace's CSS. This causes your text to display differently than the settings you've enabled in site styles.
If you connected a third-party domain to your site, contact your domain provider to ensure that you haven't set up masked forwarding. Masking controls the way your domain directs to your site, and can interfere with Squarespace's style settings.
I currently have the typeface set to Courier and the fontsize set to 12pt by changing some settings in the menu Edit->Preferences...->Editor, however there doesn't seem to be any options available to setting the default font to bold. This renders the text too thin to be easily read on my monitor.
When I move into the layout tab, and then go into the contents property box (text component editor - contents), looking at the format tab the text style selected is the custom one mentioned above, however the font is listed as "txt" rather than the romans.shx style, as dictated by the custom text style.
In the label style editor You can override a text style with different selections on the format tab and once its been done its a little bit of a pain to get the overrides out. They're hidden formatting characters in the label text content that you can't see in the editor. (if you back up one screen you may see them in the cell for the text) I usually get ride of the override by first deleting the text contents, selecting OK to exit the content editor, and then go back in. Anything added back in will now be per the chosen text style.
