I have been recently hired to maintain a very large program (only two Activities, about a hundred Fragments, and several hundred layouts). Furthermore, most of the content of the layouts (images and text) as well as the order that the layouts appear is dynamically determined via the company's Web API.

Unfortunately there is no documentation. No map, nada. The company hired a 3rd party to make this app long before they even had Android programmers. And the quality of the code is poor at best (even variable names are confusing and contradictory).

The project that generated this question is no longer under my control, so this question has become moot. But it does seem to be a common issue, so I'm leaving this question open. Perhaps in the future some kind of tool/solution will be arise. I hope this thread is useful to other programmers in that situation.

There is also the Developer Assistant app for Android which can inspect a view hierarchy at runtime and then display the most probable layout names visible on the screen. The heuristic is involved so it won't work 100% accurate, but still can be helpful and works completely offline (a disclosure: I made this app).

While this does not actually give you the name of the inflated XML file, it could be very useful. If you are lucky, you can even grep for the resource IDs to narrow down the search for which XML files to look at.

The Hierarchy Viewer allows you to debug and optimize your user interface. It provides a visual representation of the layout's View hierarchy (the Layout View) and a magnified inspector of the display (the Pixel Perfect View).

In android 3.0 to onward, the Hierarchy Viewer tool is now deprecated. There is a standalone LayoutInspector. You can access it by clicking on tools from top bar of your Android Studio.

I try to build my APK file for Android using Buildozer 1.2.1.dev0 on Ubuntu 19.04, but I get this error: Build failed: Requested API target 27 is not available, install it with the SDK android tool.

Android Multi Tool is an advanced mobile phones repairing tool designed to work with smart phones. It supports Flash / Unlock / Factory Reset / Reset FRP / Mi Account Remove etc on multiple brand's smart phones.

As far as I understand that Kotlin compiler error is, that you are using Kotlin 1.7 but try to depend on Kotlin stdlib 1.9.20 from Gradle distribution. From the information you provided I have no answer how you ended up in that state.

The new react native now requires yarm and JDK between 17 and 20. I had 21, so I installed the 17. Then my new project was successfull with react-native doctor. I was ready to try npx react-native run-android. But again, it failed to install app with ./gradlew app:installDebug

Unfortunately not.
I only can say that some provider that is tried to be resolved and has something to do with task dependencies and a file collection does not have a value.
But I cannot see where this is coming from.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, and I downloaded Android Studio with the umake tool provided by Ubuntu. This downloaded Android Studio at /root/tools/android/android-studio,and platform-tools and all other tools at /root/Android/Sdk/.

Android Studio on my PC is working just fine, and I am able to create an application and also run it on my mobile phone using it. But I want command line access to the tools and so I want to add them to the environment path.

But this dosen't work. When I give the command adb from a terminal, it dosen't seem to invoke the adb tools from the platform-tools folder. Instead it tells me to install android-tools-adb.

I am however being able to cd into platform-tools, and run adb and other tools from there, but I don't want to do that again and again. Also, how can I add Android Studio to my PATH so that I don't have to cd into its bin/ directory again and again?

Add a toolbar option which would launch the camera in one click, and allow capturing the image with another click of the shutter button, which would directly add a link to the image in the currently open file and directly add the image file to the (set by default) attachment folder.
This would allow taking a photo and adding it into notes directly with just 2 taps. This would go a long way in aiding quick capture of events into notes.

Currently to be able to take a photo and to add it to obsidian one would have to leave obsidian, launch the camera app, take the photo, then go back to obsidian, and finally find the image using the attachment tool. This has a little too much friction (for me) to be able to use it meaningfully.

Adding a new Preset: To store the current tool settings in a new Preset, tap the New Preset button. A panel will appear that allows you to enter a name and pick an area of the canvas to use as preview.

Unity distributes dependencies as modules which means you must use the Unity Hub to install them. You can install them either when you install a new Unity Editor version, or add them to an existing Unity Editor install. To install modules:

This section contains information on which versions of each dependency each Unity version supports. Each version of Unity requires a specific version of the Android NDK and Android JDK, but there are no exact version requirements for the Android SDK.

Unity relies on tools that the Android SDK provides and different versions of the SDK usually have the same tools available. This means you can use any recent version of the SDK as they all contain the build tools that Unity requires.

The Unity Hub installs the latest version of the Android SDK Target API that Google Play requires. If you need to use a more recent version, you can change it in the Android Player Settings. To do this:

If you select a target API version newer than the latest installed version, the Unity Android SDK Updater can automatically download and install the new version. Unity displays a prompt and you can choose to either:

In Unity, ChromeOS is part of the Android development environment. This means you can deliver new and existing Android applications to ChromeOS. Also, since many ChromeOS devices are laptops or have a laptop mode, you can use features such as mouse and keyboard input. For more information:

The ICSI Haystack is an Android app that helps you to identify which apps leak information about you, where they connect to, the organizations collecting this information, and how much of your bandwidth has been wasted on advertisement and tracking activities.

Haystack has been developed by a group of academic researchers at the International Computer Science Institute and UC Berkeley in collaboration with Stony Brook University. Haystack is available for free on Google Play.

Your phone hosts a rich array of information about you and your activities. Sometimes apps require accessing to personal or device information to provide useful functions of the app (for instance, a maps app requires having access to your location), or to adapt content to your device. But in other cases, apps may collect and upload privacy-sensitive information for advertising, analytics, and tracking purposes as you can see in the screenshots below.

We, as a society, don't know how this complex ecosystem works yet. Haystack aims to fill this gap and we hope that it will become a practical tool that could be useful both for the average user and for the society.

To do so, Haystack uses the Android VPN permission to analyze the traffic generated by the apps running on your phone so you can understand how they communicate with online services (including trackers and analytic services). You can read more about the technical aspects of Haystack in our paper.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our current users. Your collaboration is extremely valuable for us in our research efforts to illuminate the fast-evolving mobile ecosystem.

In order to perform our studies, we need to collect certain pieces of information about how your apps behave. We take very seriously your privacy so we do this without compromising it by aggregating and anonymizing our traces. By no means we collect any information about you or your device! For instance, we want to know that an application leaked a unique identifier like the IMEI (a unique identifier) to a given server, but we do not want to know who you are, which apps you run, the value of the IMEI, neither your location nor your IP address. All your personal data remains on your phone!

Repo is a tool built on top of Git. Repo helps manage many Git repositories, does the uploads to revision control systems, and automates parts of the development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, only to make it easier to work with Git. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can put anywhere in your path.

Please do not e-mail individual developers for support. They do not have the bandwidth for it, and often times questions have already been asked on repo-discuss or bugs posted to the issue tracker. So please search those sites first.

With DroidKit, you can flash and reinstall Android OS with no complicated operations. It will match a secure official ROM for your device and reinstall automatically. Support various Android devices, like Samsung, Xiaomi, Redmi, etc.

If you are an Android user, you should understand that Android phones always encounter some difficult problems. Statistically, many Android users report that they often encounter the following problems with their phones:
