Just tried with an other thunderbolt cable same problem. Impossible to boot with the egpu connected. And when i connect it when booted nvidia x server show nothing and the screen connected to the egpu stay black
Hi, I am having this same issue. I have an intel based hp laptop using the razer core with an RTX 2060 and just installed Pop Os 21.04. Pop Os will not boot or will take many minutes to boot with the egpu plugged in. I have to boot without it, plug it in, and type sudo systemctl restart display-manager as you have mentioned. Is there a way to fix this so it works on boot? @generix
as on other games there is no tick box at the (x-plane) app (cmd-i) for use the external gpu. is that an disadvantage as i want to plug my 4k 55 TV into the HDMI of the Sonnet egpu, having single Monitor use as external.
Since xplane isnt supporting the uhd630 anymore i think it detects and switch automatically to the egpu.
In my xplane i also didnt have the egpu button anymore.. or it is a ventura 13.5.2 (22G91) bug?
I removed the Lenovo thunderbolt dock from the equation, and now have the egpu connected directly to my Thinkpad through TB3. I have my 4K monitor connected through displayport and another monitor connected through HDMI. Both straight o the egpu Nvidia card.
Yes, egpu.io has a forum plus reviews of enclosures and build reports from other users. However, it seems to be less reliable these days that it was a few years ago. AMD eGPUs are pretty much plug and play on an Intel Mac, so less of a need to make configuration changes. It was a bit of a challenge a few years ago, so the forums were helpful.
