I had a conversation with a very bright guy in an enterprise setting not long ago, and he asked a question that I found fascinating:

Given the overall consistency and quality of articles on Wikipedia,
why couldn't an organization use a similar model to create requirements for a large-scale project?

I can immediately think of a number of ways to respond, but (based on my experience with myself) know that there are many interesting angles I would never even imagine.

Inspired by that conversation, and Bruce's talk at VuWall on "Getting Better Ideas" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DYLJGwrTo0), I'd like to ask the following:
  • What specific tools/approaches might be used for "organic" definition of agendas in a (currently) traditional organization?
  • How might one sell the idea of trying such an approach?
  • Are there any good success stories for such an approach (again, in a corporate environment)?
Thanks in advance for any pointers!
