http//www-new.reinteract.org
This is a static-generated site hosted by github and backed by
https://github.com/reinteract/reinteract-web/
I went this way because it really minimized what I had to maintain on
the server side. Other advantages:
* Because there is no wiki involved, it doesn't look like a wiki -
the slickness of the site is limited only by my HTML and design
skills.
* The github hosting means that I can easily give other people commit
access to the site.
But there are some downsides to:
* I don't love Jekyll's combination of the liquid templating engine
and Markdown - it's pretty much undefined about how the two interact
as far as I can tell. But it is convenient. One nice thing about
Markdown is that you can just embed HTML tags directly into, and I'd
like to encourage people working on the site to do that rather than
exploring every last feature of Markdown and the Maruku extensions to
it.
* Non-trivial contribution is going to involve people downloading the
sources and running Jekyll on their own site to test out their changes
before submitting them.
The "Add-ons" section is somewhat placeholder - improvements to it
definitely appreciated. (I'm happy if people just give me text,
images, and links - patch not required.)
I think I've moved everything useful from the old wiki over, but I'll
keep it around for a bit after I move the new web site live.
