Nowadays, flanger plugins in a digital audio workstation have capabilities that no hardware flanger could ever dream of. This is a list of the best free flanger plugins on the market today, and some of them have impressively next-generation capabilities.

Togu Audio Line has made quite a name for themselves in the freeware plugin market by making great sounding software that is easy to use and navigate. Their take on the flanger VST plugin is a stereo-only effect that is based upon an asymmetrical feedback analog design. It offers a control set that is pretty much standard to flangers with adjustable speed, depth, delay, width, and feedback parameters.

The free version of HY-MBMFX2 allows for one effect per frequency band, as well as a single LF and envelope follower. I've tried a view different flangers and they all added to many resonance peaks, made the sound to bright, created problems in the mix and just a nightmare. This one is quite nice the old version has a nice range in the low end and the newer side is more bright. You get a chance to choose and make the best choice. Saturation option... great. White noise great. I love the colour this specifically gives a sound.

Looking at various types, I found some flangers adding too much harsh frequencies, some brightened up the sound and made a track/instrument ugly in a mix and made it unfit to use. Then I tried this one, and it brought character and a smooth effect. If you want a sound coloured it works beautifully.

It is not a big problem really, I just have to manually select the preset each time, but I wonder why does it not work like other plugins where all their custom settings are save either in .gig file or GP User Preset.

Antresol bietet einen abwechslungsreichen und hervorragend klingenden Flanger-Effekt fr wenig Geld. Der Klangcharakter lsst Sich in weiten Bereichen einstellen und deckt mehr als die blichen Flanger Anwendungen ab.

All the amp/fx modeling apps have decent phasers and flangers, and Bias FX: -fx-guitar-amp-effects/id937685528 even has the MoogerFooger phaser modeled. I have a real one (it lives up the hype) and this is a really good emulation.

Update the Delay with modulation and possible saturation capability on the delays only. Add a Ping-Pong feature. If anything, I think the ability to have adjustable modulation would be fantastic! Of course, if there was a Modulation plug in, that could just be chained to the delay and would work as well as using two instances to get the ping pong effect.

I know there is lots of 3rd party plug-ins that can do that, but it is always nice to have Ardour install with all the basics. A Modulation and a Saturation / Distortion plugin are two basics that I see missing from the selection.
