Didyou know that musical instruments are not recycled through municipal recycling programs? It is estimated that more than 1.5 million lbs. of instrument string metal could be put into landfill every year.

After decades of pioneering efforts in sustainability, we took our environmental commitment to the next level. We created Playback so you can send in used guitar and orchestral strings. Once collected, the metal and nylon strings are separated by type and the metal is melted down and smelted into new metal alloys. The nylon is recycled into industrial plastic applications. This program is currently open to residents living in the continental US.

PLAYBACK is powered by TerraCycle, an international upcycling and recycling company that repurposes waste into new, innovative materials and products. TerraCycle is a company that aligns with our mission of creating positive social change while minimizing our carbon footprint. With its global capabilities, TerraCycle helps us turn waste into worth. Participation in the TerraCycle program is free, and the number of people who can join is limited.

If you don't have enough strings to recycle through Players Circle, you can recycle at your local Guitar Center, or any participating retail location. Please note, you will not receive Players Circle points for recycling through a retailer at this time.

Yes, you can! However, if you are a dealer, luthier, retail location, or school, do NOT use the shipping label listed on the Playback page. Please email play...@daddario.com and we are happy to set you up as a recycling center.

I have a similar issue. 5 v3 cameras had already been added to the app and all able to view playback from the sd cards. I took one offline for a while and in the interim updated the app & firmware of the remaining 4 to the latest(as of today). When I tried connecting the offline camera it would not connect AND after deleting could not re-add. So I flashed via SD card to the latest firmware and it did finally connect, except NOW the playback button is greyed out. What the h3LL???

I have tried 3 known good MicroSD cards, formatted them and rebooted camera and issue still persists. This issue only affects my new V3 black camera purchased in Jan 2024. All of my 5 other V3 cameras work fine.

I was a big fan of Wyzecam, but I am getting sick and tired of submitting detailed troubleshooting steps for every new camera that I purchase and waiting for a solution (I have had different issues with at least 3 new cameras that required detailed troubleshooting on these forums). It seems like new issues are being introduced with each new firmware or app update.

We think we have located the cause on the Wyze Cam Pan v3 and hope to have it resolved soon. If it is affecting you on other cameras, please submit a log and let me know the model of the camera and the log number.

My post 4 posts above indicates Wyze has located the problem with the Pan v3. WyzeJasonJ would like us to submit a Log for other affected cameras (like the regular v3), post the Log number on this forum with WyzeJasonJ tagged on the posting.

I am not sure what has happened but I have reopened a saved file and now my Audacity has the playback and recording meters missing on the toolbar., it is no longer showing the -60 - 0 or the coloured volume scale.

Unfortunately, I have tried all these options. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity again. Also, I checked to make sure that the correct recording/ playback devices were checked. I have reset my Mac as well. No luck I am afraid.

running Sonoma 14.2.1 and having the same problem - while waiting for an Audacity fix or upgrade, I am working around by using the Mixer (in the View menu) but this takes a lot of resources once you have a lot of tracks open

Unfortunately, it would appear that updates to fix these issues are on the low priority list. I have since switched to Audition, since what I do requires reliability. There are other, much cheaper options like Reaper that should do the job though, but Adobe just seemed easier to grasp, so I went that route.

When having multiple cue lists I see that cue lists get assigned playbacks. I know you can assign these playbacks to the faders so I guess I'm thinking that you're essentially assigning a cue list to a playback which is then assigned to a fader. The problem is though when I've linked various cue lists together and running through them I can see Playbacks changing. I'm working on a OLE and so don't know what's happening to the faders whether they change aswell. I would presume they are?

I understand that you can assign a cue list to a fader wing, but thats a cue list, not a playback, so your bypassing the whole playback thing? Also that you can load cue lists onto the Go button (the Master playback)

I'm finding it quite hard to explain exactly what I don't understand so maybe someone could just help me out telling me whats actually going off with the whole playback thing. Why there changing as I run through cue lists.

A playback is really just an association with a physical fader. A cue list doesn't have to have a playback number (which is why sometimes you will see a "- -" in the playback column in the Cue List Index display). If you have a cue list which is only executed via an external link from another cue list, it doesn't need to be loaded to a fader, thus it doesn't require a playback number.

A playback is automatically assigned to a cue list only when said cue list is loaded to a fader. A playback is likewise removed from a cue list if said cue list is removed from its fader(s). The number assigned will always be the lowest available, so:

But the *real* purpose of playbacks is so that you can have multiple iterations of the same cue list synced across different faders. (For example: If you have a cue list (apart from your main list) that you want to have access to from every fader page *and* you want that list to always be in the same cue no matter which page your on and no matter which fader you hit GO from, you can assign those faders to be the same playback #.)

Fader 8 has the Playback Tile highlighted in gray and at the bottom it says Mapped to 3, so now you need to assign the same playback # to fader 4, so click on the Playback Tile under fader 4 and then click on the Mapped to Tile, and type 3. Click Close and then click OK.

I hope that all made sense, and I'd suggest playing around with it (if you're using offline you can open a Virtual Fader display to load cue lists onto faders), and if you have anymore questions I'd be happy to clarify.

If you installed Dorico using DVDs, then try the installation again and this time make sure you are selecting to install HALion Sonic SE and the HALion Symphonic Orchestra sound library. When you download Dorico using the Steinberg Download Assistant, which is freely available on the Steinberg website, then you are presented with four items. As well as downloading and installing either the full application or latest update you must download and install these middle two items named Dorico playback one and two, as these will install the HALion Sonic SE player and the HALion Symphonic Orchestra library that actually contains the sounds.

Once installed then you should find that when you create a project and add an instrument an instance of HALion Sonic SE will be added to the VST Instruments panel and loaded with the appropriate sounds.

Then double-click to open AppData/Roaming/Steinberg. We want the VSTAudioEngine_64 folder, but beware: if you have previously created a whitelist for your VST2 instruments, this is where that is saved so you might want to make a copy of that VST2whitelist.txt file before you delete this folder.

Now when you restart Dorico it will spend a bit of time rebuilding the database for your sound files again, but after that hopefully Dorico and HALion Sonic SE will choose and load the correct sounds.

You could also try increasing the maximum number of voices, particularly if that number is currently set to something like 128. It is surprisingly easy how quickly the number of voices in use will add up, especially in orchestral textures, and once you consider that many sound libraries use additional voices for release trails. Try setting it to 256 at first and see if that improves matters.

if you have a multi-core processor you can try switching on this control that will make use of the additional power your computer has you might not want to set it use all available cores straightaway. Perhaps try setting it to two and seeing if that makes a difference.

On Mac it essentially works the same way except the default option is called Built-in Audio and again, if you have any other devices attached to your Mac then these will show up here in the list as well.

In order to enable a device you have to click in the box so that it is checked, and only then will its port be selected for audio output. Sometimes if you are having a problem with no sounds coming out of Dorico you might discover this output port section is completely empty. If this is the case then close down Dorico down, then in the taskbar right-click the loudspeaker icon, and choose Playback Devices.

I am hearing no sound on playback. I have worked through the video, tried trashing the Dorico 4 AudioEngine folder and relaunching. made sure the halon engine is there, everything seems to be working, I can even see activity in the audio faders. I have checked and rechecked audio device settings, tried switching from audio interface to built in computer audio, no luck. trying Dorico 4 pro, on a Mac mini 11.4. Any help appreciated.

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (850.5 KB)

This issue happens constantly to me on Dorico 4 for Mac. It is my biggest criticism to potential customers for this product. The playback feature is most important to me. I have had this issue since I downloaded, and it does not matter what audio device I have selected in System Preferences or within the Dorico Play settings.
