As a long-time Cubase user, I've seen many major updates to Steinberg's flagship music-production software, and the latest brings us up to Cubase 6.5. Updates are available both for the full version, as reviewed here, and for Cubase Artist.
Download the update to Cubase 6.5.0 from an existing Cubase 6.0.x installation here.
Please note that a Cubase 6.5 (or newer) license needs to be present on the USB-eLicenser to use this version! A Cubase 6.0 license is not sufficient!
Way back in 2012 I purchased Cubase 6 and upgraded to 6.5. The software remained largely unused (due to its steep learning curve, I kept going back to Adobe Audition 3, which I knew pretty well). I currently use a Tascam US-2000 interface into a quad core laptop (circa 2013!), with a Faderport (v1) connected.
Hello! I see some older posts, however I would like to reach out to the community on this. Has anyone successfully been able to use Cubase 6.5 after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10? If not, what were the issues that came up with Cubase 6.5...

i use cubase artist 6.5.3 on windows 10 and it works great , i just installed windows 10 over windows 7 (64bit) , i did not need to re-install anything , very impressed with windows 10 . All my other 3rd party plugins work great , as a matter of fact i would say windows 10 is a lot slicker and faster than windows 7 or 8 , The one downside for me was that windows 10 does not use firewire , so i had to upgrade my old firewire sound card to a USB one , but it was a few years old and did need upgrading . There was an issue with my ilock account not starting up , but i googled it and found a working solution within minutes , so all in all a very good upgrade that works great with cubase artist 6.5.3 , i would say far better than win 7+8 did.
Please note that if you purchase a new Cubase 6 you may receive a box with either a Cubase 6 or Cubase 6.5 installer disk inside. If you receive Cubase 6, simply follow the instructions to activate and download Cubase 6.5. See more>>
