Eventhough magicians have created thousands of card moves, there are only a handful that they regularly use. Some of the tricks taught in this book require no sleight of hand whatsoever, while others will need you to know how to pull off a card force and a card control.

1You need to know what the top card in the deck is since that is the card that you will be forcing onto your spectator. In this case it is the Ace of Spades. Once you know the top card, place the deck on the table.

4Misdirect the spectators from the playing cards for around 10 seconds. You can do this by asking them questions such as Did you feel like I influenced where you cut the cards? This misdirection causes the spectator to forget which packet they cut to. Now lift off the top packet and point to the pile that is still on the table. Tell your spectator to turn over the top card on this pile and remember it.

4Come in with your dominant hand and lift up the top packet from where your spectator told you to stop. However, as you do this, make sure your middle, ring, and pinkie finger maintain pressure on the top card.

5, 6 This will cause the top card to slide onto the bottom packet. You can then present your spectator with the card they think they stopped at. They will not be aware that they are holding your forced card.

2Hold the deck high up in the fingertips of your non-dominant hand. You want your thumb along the edge closest to you, your index finger on the top edge, and your middle, ring, and pinkie fingers contacting the side of the deck opposite your thumb.

5Now move your dominant hand forward again until it is directly over the cards that just fell into your palm. Use the tips of your non-dominant thumb and middle finger to lift off a small packet of cards from the top of the pile in your dominant hand. Let these cards slide off the deck and fall on top of the cards that are already in your non-dominant hand.

7As you do so, ask your spectator to call out Stop whenever they like. When you are instructed to stop, lift up the packet in your dominant hand and show them the bottom card. This will be the forced card.
