Hi, it is great to find such a group and know the there is an
alternative career pathway besides staying at bench forever.
I am a recent phD graduate and due to the greencard and family issue,
I will have to stay in academic as a postdoc for several years. But I
dont want to waste these years so I am trying to prepare my next step.
I think RA is a area I am highly interested in. I just found out that
there is a master program in our state for RA. The concerns are: 1. it
is quite expensive, 2. does the degree helps if I have no experience,
and 3. can I just prepare for RAC exam myself without persuing any
degree?
Thank you all for your kind answer and I hope to join you in the RA
workfield soon

I am not an insider but looking to land a position now. Based on my
research with people around, neither a RA degree nor RAC certification
will guarantee a job offer. However, a degree or the certification is
a must to show the employer that you have the knowledge to do the job.
Just my two cents.

Experience is the KEY.

But nowadays it seems to be really hard to get the experience without
experience. :(
Is there any volunteer opportunity out there for RA fields?
