it is mentioned:

FeaturesRegistryConfluent Schema Registry
REST API for
Schema Management
Yes
Yes
Supported Schema Types
AVRO (0.3), PROTOBUF,
JSON, extensible...
AVRO only

Any suggestion on how to enjoy that?

Hi,
Hortonworks SchemaRegistry allows one to define their own type which could be other formats like Protobuf , Json or some proprietary data format. This can be doable by defining the type and building the respective SerDes using the interfaces provided.  We currently built functionality around Avro and will add Protobuf support soon.

Thanks,
Harsha

Thank you harash

it seems some interfaces are avro-specific, like registry/schema-registry/serdes/src/main/java/com/hortonworks/registries/schemaregistry/serdes/avro/AvroSerDesHandler.java, so I am still a little confused

would you pls, if feasible, highlight  me w/ a list of interfaces and class for me to implement and extend for protobuf?

Thanks,
Jie

Hi Jie,

You can implement protobuf implementation and register that via config like below.

Pl let us know if you need any clarifications in implementing the above.

Thanks,

Satish.

Hi Jie,

You may want to raise Github issue for this task.

Thanks,

Satish.
