Some of you indicated that you intended to submit a position paper for
the Summit.
As a reminder, position papers are due Tomorrow, April 8, but better
late than never.
Anyone may submit a position paper, even if you didn’t indicate that
you intended to do so.
A position paper presents and shares your thoughts on one of the
topics related to the Summit http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/meeting-overview.
Position papers are more opinion pieces than something formal. A blog
entry is a good example.
We want to hear your ideas about registries and repositories. What
are interesting new developments? What are good success stories?
What are critical problems not being addressed? How has this world
evolved? Where is it going? Be informative. Be creative. Better
yet, be controversial.
Position papers are short – at most 2 pages, but less is better. They
are informal (not academic: no abstract, no bibliography). Just keep
to the main points; link to background info.
Any format that is web accessible is acceptable: a link to a blog, a
picture, …, or a document we can post (Word, PDF).
They will not be reviewed except for: (1) length, (2) inappropriate
content (commercial, not related to the goals of the Summit, etc.).
Except for being posted to the Google Group, they will not be
published in any other form (see
http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/position-papers
for details).
Please email me with questions.
Send me your position papers soon! We want everyone to read them
before the Summit.
Go forth and create!
And check the Google Group starting on Friday to see what’s been
submitted.
NOTE: By default, any response to this message will go to the entire
list – change the “TO:” field when making a private response.
