Great job! That is fantastic news from Merced - count me in! Region V
Team, let's get this out to as many people as possible and for those schools
that are fairly close (MJC, San Joaquin Delta I believe that you are the
closest), let's try to get a good turnout of students attending in person if
at all possible!

Fellow SSCCC Council members and Partners, if you could ensure widest
dissemination and get in touch with either Chris or myself if you can attend
- perhaps we can get some carpools going!

Hello all,
For those of you that do not know me, my name is Chris Kilby and I am the
student trustee at Merced College. I know this is sorta short notice, but
on Monday, November 24th at 11am we will be having a press conference to
express our views on the governor's budget cuts and what impact it will have
on community colleges. Several media outlets will be on hand to cover it
and Scott Lay , President/CEO, Community College League of California will
be present as well. We already have plenty of signs made with different
slogans and I just think that it would awesome if a lot of informed,
passionate students were there to stand up with us and our student body. I
totally understand that timing and distance will be a prohibitive factor,
but if you could pass this on through other contact lists you have it would
be greatly appreciated. If you think you might be able to attend, please
let me know how many will be in your party or at least an idea of how many
vehicles so that parking passes can be ready for you. Also, any questions
or concerns, or if your school is planning a similar rally, shoot me an
email.
