Dear Colleagues,

This is to inform you that MS TCDC will host a three day seminar on “Social movements and the global development agenda”. The seminar will be held from 16th – 19th of May 2011 here in Arusha. The aim of the seminar is to stimulate intellectual debate on the renaissance of social movements, significance and challenges of social movements in this era of globalization. The seminar will indeed provide a platform for information sharing, learning, experience sharing as well as inspiration for action for academicians, practitioners, experts, youth and all other independent actors involved with social movements. It is hoped that the seminar will produce a reflection/knowledge on the key pertinent issues that MS TCDC and partners find imperative to be addressed by citizens, civil society, state, private sector and independent actors in the fight against poverty and injustice.

You are invited to attend as well as suggest partners who you think might learn and benefit from this seminar. You are also welcome to suggest speakers who you think have been actively involved with social movements and would positively inspire seminar participants. Please find attached the following:

  • Concept note
  • Invitation letter

Thanks and regards,
