Dear Friends,
 
More oil and gas companies are coming in for exploration and production, it has been reported that we now have 26 oil and gas exploration licences already issued, the highest number across eastern Africa yet we dont have a gas policy and law.
 
Interestingly, last year we received information that the government was preparing a gas policy that is to be launched mid this year....so far no public consultations that have been done.....as if that is not enough, on Monday Ngeleja announced that his ministry will table a gas bill in the April parliament.
 
So far, more and more licences are being issued at an alarming speed. It is my appeal to you all that we now give this issue the attention it deserve if we would want to be proactive and more effective and avoid the fire bridgade kind of conducting advocacy.
