Good evening Region 5 Jaycees,

Here's a reminder about this Friday's Region Meeting being held at the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce (2201 First Capitol Drive) beginning at 7:00pm.  We will conduct a short business meeting and give out year-end awards.  The meeting will begin promptly (don't be late) and will end by 8:30pm so we can head to Trailhead Brewing Company for a Region 5 Social.

I also want to remind the chapter presidents that as the leader in your chapter, it is your responsibility find a representative from your chapter to attend these meetings.  I encourage you attend personally and to bring along members of your board and chapter.  Per the Region By-Laws Article VI, Section 2 - "Each local chapter president or designated member from each Region V Chapter shall be allowed to case one vote for his/her chapter...".

Right now, we do not have enough chapters for a quorum.  Out of 20 chapters in Region 5, I have the following chapters represented:
St. Charles (host)
Mission Inn
Washington
Florissant Valley
Mid County

I am extending the early registration price of $5 per person one day to Tuesday, February 8, 9:00pm.  After this time, the rate will go to $10 per person.  RSVP by replying with the names of those attending to this e-mail or to scott...@yahoo.com.

I am committed to helping you. The Region 5 Team and State Team has already begun helping several chapters in Region 5 (West County, Florissant Valley, Bridgeton / Maryland Heights, Fenton, O'Fallon, Union, St. Peters) and it is only February.  Please help me make our region, the birthplace of the Jaycee movement, stronger.  I will make sure those chapters who send representatives to the Region meeting continue to be a priority.

President Stephen and I are also planning to meet with several Chamber CEOs in mid-March.  The meetings we held in early-January went very well and each of the Chambers were willing to help in some way.  For those chapters who attend, I will also make it a priority to schedule a meeting with the Chamber CEOs in your community to see how they can help or partner with your chapter.  But, I am only willing to help you if you are willing to put in a little time to help your chapter.

I know what the membership numbers are and know that every chapter in the region can use the help.  Region 5 has historically been one of the strongest regions in the entire U.S.  We can make it strong again, but leadership begins at the top.

I look forward to helping each of you and hope to see you this Friday.
