Members meeting report, upcoming schedule at the farm etc

Hi folks,

It was really nice get together last week for the first members
meeting. Thanks so much Anna for the great hospitality!

We are planning the next meeting to be at the farm at the end of
April, and we hope people can make it. Sarah and I really really
appreciate the input and help from everyone as we learn and grow, and
make needed decisions.

As for a report from the meeting, the appetizers were delicious, and
the people very friendly! There were also a couple of other items
that stuck out as of possible interest to others:

1) fruit share? One possibility is renting an apple tree from
Liberty View farm. It is just $50 a tree for a season, and the CSA
would be responsible for picking of course. We could arrange the
transportation of the fruit from Liberty to the CSA here. Perhaps
four or five members could come to help pick as their work
contribution, and then everyone could have organic apples!

Also, if some of our members are interested, perhaps we could together
capitalize a berry share? raspberries and Blueberries. Something to
consider perhaps. If we wanted fruit this season, it would have to be
something to do quite soon.

2) deer permit. we are looking into a nuisance permit for the farm.
Perhaps we can find a bowhunter, and collaborate on the processing
expenses, and then have some kind of tasty venison share?

3) workday schedule: from now until May 31 (the first official
pickup day) every weds and sat will be workdays at the farm. 9:00am
to 1:30pm. after that we will adjust for a harvest schedule. we have
plenty to do out there. pls rsvp if possible before you come

we will also (hopefully!) have the workshop schedule out soon.

Thanks for the e-mail and update on info.
Can you give a specific date at the end of April for the next meeting? If
so, I will send out a press release right away. Hopefully we can pull in
some new members for that meeting.
