Hi folks,

Thanks to all you dilligent folks that signed up for this group. We
appreciate your sharing this journey with us!

Sarah and I envision the the ideal CSA as having member involvement on
every level, if possible. We know that folks are busy with their own
lives, so of course there will always be limits to what any individual
mamber can do.

Our ideal member involvement would go far beyond help in the gardens
of course, and could also mean getting to the point where the
membership helps determine everything from the share prices, to
helping direct the long term strategy of the CSA on many levels.

We would even love to go non-profit with the CSA, with a board of
member directors helping guide the farms future and programs.

We don't have any firm proposals to make this happen right now, though
perhaps if we could all organize some regular meetings together then
something like this could develop over time?

Sarah and I only have so much time to organize events, and would love
to see members take on this organization for monthly meetings. They
could happen at the farm in good weather, but we are limited in
gathering space there that is protected from the elements.

Is this something that members could try to organize and perhaps host?
I don't expect that there will be alot of people at our early
meetings, and they do not have to be full potlucks like our first one
if that doesn't work for whomever is hosting it.

We'd love to hear your ideas.

thanks!
kevin

Kevin and Sarah,
I know that you want to wait to do a press release until you get the
workshop schedule at Epworth finalized. Nevertheless, I would like to see a
short blub sent out asap to generate interest in the CSA. To that end I
have drafted something. Let me know what you think. I'll be happy to
e-mail it to local sources, if you like. Do you have a media list?
As for general meetings, I think it's a good idea. I am considering hosting
something, though I am really swamped with school and some other activities
right now. I hope someone will want to volunteer to organize these
gatherings.
And, I hope that the materials that were offered through freecycle are
helpful.

HI Fay,
I read the press release draft you sent. It looks good. That would be
very appreciated if you sent it around to places you know of. I don't
have a media list (meaning where we advertise?) The Blue Stone Press,
but of course we pay for that, so if you know of any free places, by
all means, it is ALL helpful! Thanks for your thoughts on general
meetings too.
As for freecylce-YES- it is helpful! Kevin's been talking with folks
on the phone I know about stuff you've sent.
Keep track if you can Fay, 'cause your time counts as work hours!
Thanks much,
Best,
Sarah

Hi everyone, This is I can print out flyers, maybe even get some
posters done. I will download from here or my email. Also, I believe
Jorelle and I could host some meetings at her house in Rosendale. We
need to get a small group together to organize and host meetings. I am
willing to work in such a group. We could host meetings on Thurs. 7-9
and on Fri or Sat 5-7. But actually, I don't have so many ideas about
what to deal with in these organizing meetings. The goals: increasing
membership, increasing participation, spreading information and best
practices are some I think. A

Anna and Jorelle,
Thanks for offering a house for future meetings. Your agenda ideas sound
good. Perhaps someone could work with Kevin and Sarah on agendas for each
meeting.
Also we need someone to facilitate the meetings. It could be the same
person or could be rotated.
I am all out of flyers. When can I get more?
Shall we set a date to meet in March? I can't meet on the following
Thursdays: 13th and 20th and the following Fridays or Saturdays: Mar
14,15, 21. Of course, no matter what date is picked, it will not work for
some, so at some point a date just needs to be set.
