Typically, load balancers verify PSM server availability by examining network connectivity to the server alone. The PSM Health Check enables you to determine PSM service availability (health) by querying a dedicated PSM Web Service deployed on each PSM instance.

Do we have to use SNMP as the polling method if we want to pull in the HP SIM hardware health monitoring? Since SNMP was not included in the Win 2012 r2 build and SNMP v2 has some security concerns we moved to WMI polling for all Win servers. I have found that 90% of the servers are now not providing HW monitoring as an option when we list resources. A few are which has me baffled. I was thinking maybe it was the version of our SIM agents or some config possibly? Any ideas? Should I be able to see SIM HW info even when polling with WMI if the SIM agents are up to date? I believe ours are quite old but the few that I can see HW info on are version 10 or better.

IT organizations might use third-party Windows 11 compatibility assessment tools on corporate PCs because the PC Health Check doesn't work with policy-based PC management. On such PCs, the native Microsoft tool's check produces only an error result (Figure 4).

For PCs that can't properly run the PC Health Check tool, there are a few third-party tools that IT admins can try. WhyNotWin11 is a project available on GitHub that runs as a standalone Windows application. It reports on a series of checks that it runs on target PCs, such as CPU compatibility and storage availability. The application lists the requirements for Windows 11 and identifies which ones the target PC does and does not meet (Figure 5).

The Windows 11 Compatibility Check is another project available on GitHub that takes the form of a batch file and runs inside an administrative command prompt or PowerShell window on target PCs. It also works on centrally managed PCs to produce a list of which Windows 11 requirements a target PC does and does not meet (Figure 6). To perform the check, start CMD.exe at the directory where Win11CompChk.bat resides and run the file, or do likewise in a PowerShell session.

That's why I started writing a VBO Health Check script which quickly gives some useful information about the health of a Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 setup. The script checks and reports possible issues/misconfigurations:

CCleaner is also the best free PC health check software for Windows 11/10. It makes your computer faster and more secure. CCleaner Professional provides standard privacy protection, standard /complete cleaning, driver updater, complete PC health check, app updates, etc.

This free PC health check tool offers free hardware analysis, monitoring, reporting, and provides in-depth hardware information. It also offers real-time system monitoring and reporting. You can use this program to easily check your PC health.

Ashampoo WinOptimizer is another top free PC health check app for Windows 10/11 that helps you easily optimize and accelerate your PC. It not only helps clean your PC but also provides system maintenance/customization and improves your privacy security.

With MiniTool Partition Wizard, you can easily create a new partition, delete a partition, extend/resize a partition, merge partitions, format a partition, wipe a partition, etc. Aside from helping you repartition hard drives, it also helps you analyze hard drive space and free up disk space, check and fix disk errors, test hard drive speed, migrate OS to HDD/SSD, clone disk, and more. MiniTool Partition Wizard meets all your disk partition management commands. Extremely intuitive and easy to use.

The Platform Analytics Health Check Utility is an end-to-end health check. This utility troubleshoots issues across multiple components required to produce, consume, and report on telemetry from the platform. In particular, this check is recommended if a report in one of your projects is not providing telemetry to the Platform Analytics warehouse.

The Platform Analytics Health Check Utility performs all three health checks that occur in Start-Up Health Checks and end-to-end telemetry checks to verify that data can be produced by the Intelligence Server and consumed by the Platform Analytics Consumer (Telemetry Store).

The Redis Health Check determines if the consumer or producer can successfully connect to the Redis server. The check provides detailed statistics about Redis collected during startup. If all the checks are successful, the final line will read Redis server health check result is healthy.

The Kafka Health Check ensures the Telemetry Manager (Apache Zookeeper) and the Telemetry Server (Kafka Server) are started and connected. If all the checks are successful, the final line will read Kafka cluster health check result is healthy.

The Change Journal check ensures the Platform Analytics Consumer is healthy. For this check, you must provide a project GUID and a report GUID to test. You are asked to modify the description of the report, which generates a Change Journal log. The test verifies if the Intelligence Server Producer produced the log to the Mstr.PlatformAnalytics.ChangeJournal.CubesReportsDossier Kafka topic. Then, it tests if the log is processed and written to the Platform Analytics warehouse table lu_object.

If you see an error in your check, ensure the feature flag Messaging Service for Platform Analytics is on in the Intelligence server and that the property Telemetry Server enabled is set to True in the Intelligence server.

If restarting the server does not resolve the issue, check the logs under /PlatformAnalytics/log/platform-analytics-consumer.log or contact MicroStrategy Technical Support and attach the folder /PlatformAnalytics/log to your case.

This health check ensures the Platform Analytics Consumer can process report statistics. You are prompted to execute the report from the previous health check. This generates a log to the topic Mstr.PlatformAnalytics.IsReportStats. The health check verifies that the Intelligence Server Producer produced the record to Kafka and that it is in the Platform Analytics warehouse.

Checking and maintaining hard drive health is key to getting the most out of your PC and preventing catastrophic data loss situations. In this guide, we'll discuss how to check hard drive health and troubleshoot common issues.

Before diving into how to troubleshoot your HDD, it's essential to understand what hard drive health is. Most hard drives store information on a magnetic disc that spins, and data is read off the disc as it rotates. This means that physically, there are points of failure that can cause malfunctions in use.

Physical hard drive health is the easiest and quickest way to see if your device is damaged. More detailed checks can be performed in your operating system (Windows, or macOS). Testing your hard drive like this might reveal some problems, but not all hope is lost. In this guide, we will go over the proper troubleshooting steps to take when there is something wrong with your device.

This step varies depending on the computer you own, but no matter the operating system you're using, it will include built-in tools to test your HDD. Both Windows and Mac offer easy to use built-in tools that can be used to check the health of your hard drive. While the built-in tools may be different, there is a standard monitoring system in all hard drives.

Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Report Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) is the quickest way uncover issues with your HDD. When S.M.A.R.T. data indicates possible drive failure, software on the PC will alert users to help prevent data loss. You can also manually check S.M.A.R.T. status in Windows and macOS whenever you want.

To check S.M.A.R.T. status in Windows, you will first need to launch the Command Prompt. To do so, click the "Type here to search" in the bottom left of the taskbar. Once there, type "cmd" and hit enter. This will launch a black window with white text known as "Command Prompt." Once this is open, type the following command and hit enter:

If everything is in working order, you should see: "Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. No further action is required." followed by some statistics of what the check tested.

Using a built-in app called Disk Utility, Mac users can identify errors occurring in their hard drive, check S.M.A.R.T. data, and repair their HDD accordingly. TO get started, launch Disk Utility from the Applications/Utilities folder on your Mac by default. Inside Disk Utility, you will see an overview of all your local hard drives.

With the Disk Utility app open, select the HDD you wish to check, then click the "First aid" tab. This will run a test that looks similar to the chkdsk utility in Windows. Your Mac will then run a series of checks on the hard drive and output errors and necessary repairs in a text box in the center of the app.

Repairing a hard drive on macOS is as easy as checking it. All you will need to do next is click the "Repair Disk" button. If there are no issues, you will see a message that says, "Operation Successful" or "Disk verified."
