to refurbishers
I volunteer in a non-profit organization called TVCUC.  We have been talking about what we will do when / if M$ discontinues windows 10 in Oct. 2025.

So, I have a general question:  what are some of the other refurbisher's planning on doing?  We are looking at Linux (Mint) as an alternative, but are not comfortable about it's reception in the user community.  Has anyone had any experience in this area?

Short answers are fine ... or more detail if you want to take the time.

Thanks
Gary Davis

to refurbishers
I have been using Xubuntu, Ubuntu, and Mint (sometimes) to refurbish/repurpose our school computers when security updates end. My students and I service hundreds of devices to keep them in circulation in classrooms throughout our school. I continue to receive advice/support from Aaron Prisk (Linux expert). He has compiled amazing resources to help develop FOG Server systems for more efficient reimaging. What was once completed in hours now only takes minutes👍
Here are some resources to help get you started:
Making a FOG server (we make these so we can use them to package and deploy our Linux images onto all of our other devices that need reimaging).
Making a user-tailored Linux image (We mainly use 2 different images, one for client personal use at home/school, and one for student use at school).
The next step would involve capturing the user-tailored Linux image into the FOG server, then deploying it to other computers via the FOG server.
I will help you with these steps when you get there via video chat and/text messaging.
Feel free to contact me anytime for assistance👍
Again, a huge thank you to Aaron Prisk for creating such useful support tools🙌🙌
