I’m getting in touch to share that we are currently accepting referrals for the ‘First Steps to Work’ Course in partnership with the National Zakat Foundation and the
‘Working in the UK’ course in partnership with PWC. Please find the flyers attached and referral information at the bottom of this email.
‘First Steps to Work’ – Entry Level Employability Course, In partnership with the
National Zakat Foundation:
- This is an entry-level employability course providing employability support through a mixture of group online courses, and 1-to-1 information, advice and guidance support from our
employment advisors.
- The support will begin in April and clients will receive support for 9 months. (All clients need to be recruited before April).
- Included within this programme is limited funding to support clients onto accredited entry-level training courses.
- Please note the ‘First Steps to Work’ course is in partnership with the National Zakat Foundation, a charity supporting Muslims in the UK, clients will have to meet both the RIJ and the National Zakat
Foundation’s eligibility criteria for this course.
Working in the UK Advanced Employability Course co-delivered with
PWC:
- Advanced employability course delivered
online over 6 weeks from the 14th of February at 10:00am – 12pm every Friday.
- Aimed at those who have professional experience, to prepare clients for work in professional roles, including in depth CV support and mock interview practice.
- Upon completion of the course, clients receive 1-to-1 support from an employment advisor.
- Please send referrals for the course to

Places are limited.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Refugee status, family reunion, humanitarian protection, Homes for Ukraine and Resettlement schemes with evidence (E-visa screenshot), Home Office letter, or family reunion visa as applicable.
- Living in England
- Basic digital skills
- English speaking and listening Entry level 3 or above for the advanced course or Entry 2 and above for the first steps to work course (If unsure, this will be assessed within initial screening call)
- Over 18 years old
- Please note for the ‘First Steps to Work’ course, clients will also have to meet the National Zakat Foundation’s eligibility criteria
