Subject: Referrals welcome!

Hello all

We are pleased to share with you a new and exciting opportunity for your clients!

We are now open for referrals for the Refugee Council-M&S Employability course starting on the 5th of October. This is a fantastic opportunity for refugee clients to gain paid experience within the customer service and retail sector.

Key information:

This opportunity offers 3 days of pre-employment training on Zoom with a Refugee Council trainer. After online training clients will attend a ‘Taster Day’ with M&S, this will include an interview. Successful candidates will then begin a 12 week paid placement in 1 of 4 M&S stores  across London.  This is a promising opportunity for refugees to enter the job market with a reputable employer.

  • The 12 week  placements at M&S will be 16 hour contracts and the hours are flexible to fit around college or other commitments. However, there is an expectation to work weekends regularly.  Please note the induction week, on the first week on placement will be a totally of 20 hours.
  • The Taster Day and Induction week will take place at: Marble Arch flagship store, 458 Oxford St, London W1C 1AP.
  • This opportunity is targeted to refugees who are struggling to enter the job market, so ideally are not currently in work and have the time to commit to the training course and placement.
  • Full attendance at the training and the taster day is mandatory.
  • English Entry Level 3 (or equivalent) is required, as is permission to work as a refugee.
  • When referring please complete the referral form and share copies of BRP card if you have these.

We look forward to your referrals and working with you and your clients.  Any questions, please feel free to ask.
