Hello everyone,

 

I hope you are having a great week so far!

 

I’m getting in touch from the Refugees Into Jobs team of the Refugee Council to announce that we are open for referrals for our Information, Advice & Guidance Service including our Working in the UK course with PWC

 

This is an advanced employability course aimed to support refugees to develop key employability skills, practice interview skills and seek advise for trainers in corporate roles!

 

Please take a look at the flyer attached for more information and dates  and programme outline below:

 

Working in the UK course Outline :

 

Day 1:  Friday 16th February 2024 10am-12pm

  • Delivered by Refugee Council - Introduction to UK Labour Market & Recruitment pathways; The job application process, What employers look for and how you can stand out, Language of the job search-buzzwords, Value of volunteering, Researching the employer

Day 2: Friday 23rd February 2024 10am-12pm

  • Delivered by Refugee Council - CVs & Applications; job descriptions & person specifications, identifying your skills and qualities and 'selling' them to employers, CV writing and addressing gaps in CV, Cover Letters vs Personal Statements/Motivation Letters

Day 3: Friday 1st March 2024 10am- 12pm

  • Delivered by PwC - Professional Communication and tips for business writing

Day 4: Friday 8th March 2024

  • Part 1 10am-12pm Delivered PwC Interview skills – general and behavioural & transferable skills
  • Part 2 (optional) 12:15-1pm Delivered by Refugee Council - Practicing interview skills- an opportunity to practice answering key interview questions with advisors

Day 5: Friday 15th March 2024 10am-12pm

  • Delivered by PwC - 1-2-1 Mock interviews and feedback

Day 6: Friday 22nd March 2024 10am-12pm

  • Delivered by PWC - Group meeting/Reflections- summarise your key learning from the course! Reflecting on important tips and tricks

 

The eligibility for each course is listed on the  flyer attached to this email.  To refer clients (or encourage clients to self-refer) to any of these courses please complete the attached referral form and send it back to r...@refugeecouncil.org.uk  along with photos of the front and back of client’s BRP card attached. Please feel free to share flyers and the referral forms with interested clients!
