We went around and did introductions, which included such items as
where we worked, things we do, and our proficiencies.
Introductions
Tim Cloninger: Three years with Teen Challenger and is hired as the
“computer guy.” Uses/knows php, mySQL, javascript, jQuery. Considers
himself as a web generalists. Also works on 15 side sites.
The guy who works at the Park Board: Found his way into the web world
by interest and by taking a proactive stance to figure things out. He
uses Dreamweaver, which he claims he is still learning. He also works
on 5 side sites.
Chris Akins: Works for the city of Springfield for 9 years and is self-
taught. Job title is Web Coordinator and is responsible for content
design. Launched a new table-less site for the city about 3 weeks ago
(about 2,500 page site not including downloadables). Uses/knows JSP,
calls himself a scripter, and uses a Mac. Says that there is little
budget for his area, but recently got an intern for the first time and
that was a big help.
Rob: Works at AG HQ as a Programmer Analysis. Self proclaimed
Professional Googler. He first started out with interest in graphic
design and video. He wrestles with function and beauty for apps.
Recent projects include a Website generator for AG churches and AGTV
video application. Uses/knows cold fusion, SQL, jQuery and a bit of
PHP.
Nathan Sutton: Webmaster at Evangel University. Recently acquired a
staff of two, a content developer and a web editor. Recent project was
launching a new site. Uses/knows Dreamweaver, ASP, javascript, jQuery,
and CSS.
Tim's Presentation
After introductions Tim went on to discuss in more detail his full-
time job including major projects and how they were accomplished.
