sorry for the late reply to this thread, i've only just come across
it.

I am going to be kind and assume that the report in referring to
immaturity of North East blogs in terms of their syndication and
monitization, and not in terms of quality of their writing, imagery or
journalism, or the even the range or depth of their content. There are
some very fine northern bloggers, and in fact i have just set up a
blog at www.davidcoxon.com/blog with a links section specifically for
highlighting Northern blogs (preferable in tech or related subjects)
so if you have any links please let me have them. I am also linking to
northern institutions groups and organization if you have links. This
blog is specifically a local blog concentrating on what is happening
in north east tech (particularly newcastle as that is where i live,
but if anyone has anything from further afield again i'm glad to
consider it).

In term of my own humble blog http://worldofitblog.wordpress.com its
getting about 70 hits a day from pretty much around the world and has
been rated 8.5 (out of 10) on a couple of blog reviews - i'd like to
thing it was reasonably mature although its just for fun and i don't
earn money from it.

My Final point would be how does this report identify northern blogs,
i know several nurses that write parenting blogs for example that have
very high visitor numbers and that bring in enough money to support
them, but to outside eyes there is no link to the fact that its
created in newcastl in fact i think many people believe its from the
states.
