to Refresh Orlando Site Content Design
Hello everyone,

I would like to get everyone's input on recommendations for the
features of the new site. A few things I have put together are:

Upcoming talks
- This is obvious, but it would be great to have these planned out
ahead of time, 2 or 3 months in advance perhaps.

Past Talks Archive
- Let people see where we have been, and how we do more than just
'internet'

Media
- Video, Slides, and Imagery from talks would be great. Even a flickr
pool or an area where people can contribute would be awesome.

Sponsors and Donations
- A great way to get local businesses involved.

Blog and contributing authors
- We can't get everything into once a month talks. This would also be
a great way to build traffic and followers to promote the events. This
may be a good way to also promote the idea of guest talks from other
Refresh Communities that may be too far away for easy travel.

Social feeds
- Really need to utilize twitter, facebook, linkedin and other social
networks for promotion of this event and group.

Members and/or professional directory
- Let local businesses and other professionals in our industries know
who's involved, and why they should be, too.

Job Board
- Another place to promote local business and maybe bring in some cash
for Refresh

Please add to this list, or give a good reason why we should not push
to have these features.

Thanks!

Brandon,

I think all your suggestions are great. I think they are all definitely doable since we are using Drupal and it seems full of features and modules that we can activate and configure.

I agree about planning for presentations a few months ahead of time. It is a challenge to get Presenters, but I think when we get more publicity it will get easier.

I like the idea of the job board. I think that would really make Refresh more relevant with the IT and business community her in Orlando.

I think we should move ahead, if there are no objections, and make the site platform as feature complete as possible.

What do you all think?

Rodney

Hi Rodney,

Sorry for the lull in communication lately. I've been extremely busy
both in and out of work. I will catch up more with everything later
tonight- just wanted to let you know I'm still on this!
