Hi, I am looking for a developer to update my website, add some more
pages, set up a blog etc..... see www.theredbus.co.uk. Would any one
out there be keen to take this on?
Clunie.

Hi Clunie,

I received the email you sent out to the refresh Edinburgh mailing list.

From what you've mentioned in the email, and having had a look at the website, I reckon I'd be able to do a great job for you.

I'm a web developer (and former designer) with more than ten years' industry experience, working on a freelance basis in Edinburgh. You can check some of my work out on my website at http://www.mayfielddigital.co.uk/.

From what you've said, it sounds like Wordpress might be a suitable software solution that would add a blog to the site and could also allow you to edit the rest of the content on your website without the need for technical knowledge. It's open source, so it's free of charge, extremely popular and highly usable. Of course, it may turn out after speaking to you that a different solution is advisable, but I'd always opt for something that allows you to update your own website - there's really no point paying a developer to make simple changes.

I'd suggest having a chat over the phone to discuss your requirements in more detail and determine if I'm a good fit for the project (I'm confident I will be). If it's appropriate, we can then meet up in person to further clarify things (I like to meet my clients as far as possible anyway - it just works better in my opinion). Once I'm confident I have a full understanding of your business and project requirements I'll then provide a proposal, summarising my proposed solution, along with a fixed price quote.

If that all sounds good, why not give me a ring on 0793 22 777 99 for a chat about the project?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
David.

Whoops! Sorry - appears I shouldn't have hit the reply button.

Sorry - first time refresh mailing list user - won't happen again (wrist metaphorically slapped).

David, now we all know what you can do and your approach, which is by no means a bad thing.

I was looking at this too - would be a fun project and you're spot on with WordPress.

Next time though it's handcuffs rather than wrist slapping ;)

Dan

Cheers Dan.

Hoping I'll be able to come along and meet everyone next Wednesday at my first Refresh meet up. Looking forward to it.

Till then,
David.
