Hi,

Since Eric Meyer released the county/postcode data for the A List Apart survey, someone has come up with a sorted list of UK postcodes with city and regions:

Nice to see a good portion of Edinburgh participants in there (72 according to a dump into Excel)!

Cheers
Rory

PS My first post to a local mailing list :o)

And since you sometimes get those quiet nights (and also because maps
are great), I've geocoded and mapped the results:

<http://tinyurl.com/5g22e6>

I automated the process of geocoding, calling Google's JSON & AJAX
based geocoder once a second for each location. The longitude and
latitude co-ordinates for each location are in the page itself, and
Javascript is used to plot the markers on the map. Feel free to nab
the data if you want — I also have an SQLite database with all the
data; if anyone wants it, just ask.

As for the map itself: it doesn't really tell us anything! Web
developers tend towards living in cities and the south-east of
England, but then so does the general population.
