Hello all,

I'm talking next month at "Too Much Print...Not Enough Web?" (4/22,
6-8:30, Wind Up Space) and I am hoping to gather some additional
thoughts from others. If you were hiring a web designer (not
developer) what skills would you look for?

Thank you for your thoughts! -Alissa

Alissa, you should come to the upcoming Refresh Meeting, it might give
you some more information in regards to your question.

Alissa - did you have a chance to catch the refresh meeting last week?
They did a quick overview about the transition between print to web.
You might want to get in touch with Lauren Herda at b Creative group,
they gave the last Refresh Talk.

What is this presentation about? Is it for graduates entering the job
market, or for current print designers looking to get into web design?

Alissa,

I think you may want to express your question in a more specific way.
For example, what is the person to do? There are some major
differences between designer and developer roles that are relative to
the type of organization they will be working for and the type of
project. A freelance designer will probably also be expected to do
development (even if they outsource it to someone else), and a
developer would potentially have similar expectations. Of course the
person asking the question should spend some time doing their homework
on this.

I'd be happy to discuss this offline.
