I am looking for a developer who is familiar with AR. Working on
creating an app but need more expertise than I possess. Thanks!

Have you looked at Qualcomm's Vuforia? We've used it for a few projects. https://developer.qualcomm.com/develop/mobile-technologies/augmented-reality

If interested in AR check out www.augmentedrealityevent.com.  it is happening this may 8-9 in santa clara, CA.  The list of speakers and topics is solid and Qualcomm happens to be the title sponsor.  I found a Discount Code for reduced ticket prices $375 instead of $495.  Use Discount Code ANL375AR.

I just switched from godaddy. And am looking for cheap and reliable web hosting. Nothing fancy, just simple email and web space with PHP.

What are your favorites?
Anyone have any thoughts on ipage.com?

Thanks.

namecheap.com is decent, and the interface is a lot simpler than godaddy's.

Gotta say it; can't resist:

There's cheap & there's reliable. ;-)

Now that that's out of my system, I'd recommend Hostgator as a good starting-out host. You could also be pleased with Bluehost & Dreamhost, as well. Compare their plans & the price -to- features.

I use both Hostgator & Bluehost for several sites.

If you need rock-solid WordPress hosting, you can't go wrong with Austin's WPEngine. They're low-end plan is more than sufficient for most WordPress-based sites.

How cheap is "cheap", I guess is the question.

Cheers!

They advertise really low rates and apparently they're completely on wind energy.

I've never used them, but they seem legitimate.

I have been happy with Siteground, affordable and solid (never run a high traffic site there tho)

I second Hostgator - I have a couple of clients on Bluehost and they seem to have slower mysql performance than Hostgator (admittedly, this is a small sample size).  Another client of mine upgrade to Hostgator VPS and seem pretty satisfied.

Have to agree, and add a "you get what you pay for." :)

That said, I use $5/mo as a baseline price for cheap webhosting. I've found that the corner-cutting increases exponentially when you go sub $5.

Dreamhost has gone rapidly downhill over the past 6 months or so. I've used Bluehost before and they at least offer complimentary phone support, but it's still shared hosting.

A coworker of mine RAVES about Webfaction: http://www.webfaction.com. They seem to be a bit more flexible than your typical shared hosting setup, but I don't have any firsthand experience with them.

Whatever you do, if you sign up for a shared hosting account, I'd recommend only hosting ONE website with it regardless of the number of "domains" they offer. If you run into reliability issues, having more than one domain on the same account makes it difficult to isolate the problem.

Eric,

I love webfaction.com and have been using them for years. Support is great, as in quick and responsive. And new software is usually rolled out as a one-click installer a week-or-so after release.

+1 webfaction because they have good support, SSH access and full support for modern frameworks like Django/Rails all for $5.50 a month.

Siteground.com offers good pricing and great customer service/
technical support for industry standard basic hosting. Its about $50/
year.
