Howdy everyone, I want to take an existing RSS feed (my feed from Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/alex/feed.rss) and modify it slightly before pullingthe content into my Web site and/or Tweeting it out. Specifically, the feed from Pinterest cuts off the title of each entry, though it includes the full title in the description. It's a rather annoying set up to say the least. So, I would like to take the feed, replace the truncated title with the full title from the description area. While I am at it, I may also tweak the image URL to point to the full size image instead of the smaller image included in the feed. In the past I would use Yahoo Pipes for this work, but I'm nervous that the site will go away in the not-too-distant future, so I'd love to find an alternative. Sadly 'If This Then That' (http://ifttt.com), one of my new favorite sites/services can't handle the task.

Does anyone have a recommendation? I'd love to use a maintained service for this, but could also roll with a PHP self host PHP script.

Hi Alex

I haven't had a chance to play with this yet, but perhaps this can help you in some way?

Thanks for the fast reply Haylie. The widget looks good, though it doesn't handle what I need. I specifically want to capture the data in the database, modifying it slightly along the way. The plugin uses the data straight, purely to display it in a sidebar, which is a different need.

I can, and may have to use Yahoo Pipes to transform the feed so it's formatted the way I'd like, but my hope is to find a service less likely to be shuttered.

Cheers,

Hi Al, I haven't found an alternative for Yahoo Pipes. I spent some more time looking last weekend, before falling back to use it again.

Hi Alex,

Have you been able to find a solution to your query? I am having the exact same problem.. contemplating the same yahoo pipes solution but would prefer something local.

Any updated would be appreciated.

Thanks
